Something I find boggling is how many people out there donāt listen or seem to register the lyrics of the songs they listen to.
I was hanging out with a friend group recently and one of them was showing us a really funny cover of āBoys Donāt Cryā by Sheer Terror. And someone in the group said āI hate that songā. When I asked him why, he said āit promotes toxic masculinityā.
My brother in Christ, have you listened to the song? Have you read the lyrics? What song have you been listening to???
Itās not just him though, Iāve met many people who seem completely incapable of understanding singers without the lyrics in front of them. Why is that? Of course I would understand if itās an audio processing issue, but listening to āFortunate Sonā and thinking itās a pro-war song or listening to any song by The Village People and thinking there arenāt any allusions to gayness is just perplexing. The complete misinterpretation and misunderstandings of the artists message while theyāre actively singing to you will never not astound me.
I think what makes hypnosis such a beautiful art form is how utterly enrapturing words can be, right? Anyone can talk, yet the right words trick our brains into listening further along into their traps, whether weāre aware of it or not.
Itās what makes the journey that much more interesting for both parties.
The telltale signs of submission showing on the subjectās sleepy face as their eyes fog and flutter versus the flicker of the hypnotistās tongue striking against their mind as it struggles to stay afloat is only one of my examples of the beauty of the dynamic.
Some seek deep control while others seek simple highs of blissful blankness, itās the balance of the field that makes us so drawn to it all, as weāre drawn to the pretty words that make up each and every trance we encounter.
Itās what our minds desire that set us all apart, with our wild dreams and deep secrets that we wish to keep.
Hypnosis helps unleash that inhibition and instead leash the mind that holds it back, leaving the subject in this perilous back and forth between controlled and out of control that only spirals them further down into deep and blissful sleep.
And itās this theory that helps us understand why trance is so beautiful, why it enamored so very many and strands as a beacon of blissful relaxation to this day: all because of the words that have built it.
The words that have built you.
Everyone has buzz words that break their brain at the slightest mention, and it only sends us further down into our addictions.
Using those to your advantage is key as a hypnotist, for the infinite depths of trance can be used as a beacon for nearly any experience you wish to provide.
A simple and relaxing time under the influence? Easy.
Erasing memories and replacing them with your own evil entries? Doable.
Pumping piping hot pleasure into their heated bodies at breakneck pace before they can even process a thought? All too simple.
Wishing to program a person to your liking? You can always achieve it.
Whatever you may desire for someone, itās all possible so long as both parties agree.
And if that agreement is there? God help whatever poor mind is about to be captured next.
Though I doubt they mind when they have none to speak of.
Or for that matter, no way of speaking once the order to silence comes.
!!CW!! Slightly trancey language.
I nearly forgot to gush about eye fixation!
Itās probably one of the most well-known focus objects/visuals in all of hypnosis, and thereās a good reason for it!
Not only is it a relatable and warm reminder of the humanity behind hypnosis (everyone has eyes, if you could believe that) but itās just simply a great visual!
It takes the best element of a spiral, the infinite empty void within, and applies a personal touch to that through the color of someoneās eyes.
Like take me for example, I use a lot of visuals of emerald green eyes in my sessions/trances, it helps to give not only a visual of my face but also gives the subject a warmer color to fall into, which also of course helps the whole relaxation element of trance. (Plus greenās a great alliteration word, something I tend to love using/hearing)
Plus, thereās always something about the idea of keeping your eyes peeled on someone that draws out all your focus.
Take one of my earlier inductions for example, I had an eye fixation induction (Iāll link it at the end of this post if youāre curious about it) where I used the idea of a staring contest to create this domino effect for the reader that had them pitting their need to fall against their competitiveness to create this distracting dynamic that only accented the trance itself.
Eyes can really be used in a multitude of ways if you think about it, really.
Not only can eyes provide a dominant or submissive look into someoneās soul, eyes tell a story about the person youāre interacting with.
When you look into someoneās eyes, you can really feel their world blurring into yours for a moment.
Their emotions, their passions, even thoughts if you know what signs to look for.
Dominants use eyes a lot to portray authority and power over others, and itās why itās such a useful tool in hypnosis!
That power can be used to accentuate a trance themed around dominance or power, creating that initial submissiveness that leads forwards throughout the session.
Plus, eyes naturally reflect light extensively, so theyāre naturally distracting on people, and makeup or face paint can help push these ideas further!
It can create illusions or subconscious visuals that help draw a potential victim into your eyes through the patterns that bring their attention to your gaze.
Thereās a reason why people say that the eyes are the window to the soul!
Anyways, if I come up with more to add Iāll probably make another short ramble. Thanks for reading and stay cool!
So Iāve got a fun game we could play, dear. How about it? If you win, Iāll tell you a deep secret. Though if I win, you have to tell me on
!!CW!! Slightly trancy language, me being a huge dork
So in all the time Iāve been learning about hypnosis, thereās always been something that caught my attention, which is ironic considering the topic Iām about to discuss.
Focus objects.
So, what is that? Well, itās just my own definition so donāt take it as gospel or anything, but a focus object is exactly what it sounds like: an object thatās used for focus in trance.
The most famous one is probably a spiral, but itās less of an object and more of a visual.
In terms of objects though? The pendulum reigns supreme.
And how could it not? I mean, itās pretty easy to find yourself rocking to the back and forth rhythm it creates with just a little bit of motion.
I think thatās why Iām so intrigued by the idea of focus objects, itās the inane human mind connecting with something inhuman to create a state where the consciousness of humanity mixes with the lack of cognition inanimate objects, well, are.
I know, it sounds kinda dumb when I say it like that, itās a more philosophical look on the idea I guess, itās just the way my brain works.
But, it is pretty cool knowing that anything, and I mean anything can be a focus object.
Donāt believe me? Letās discuss then.
Anything that the human mind can focus on is a focus object.
Thatās the power of it right there.
Itās just up to you to find that special object that you canāt pry your eyes away from.
For me, itās a candleās wick.
The flicker of the flame, the warmth of the light as it hits my eyes, the glow seeming to outshine whatever else may be happening in my mind.
Itās a personal favorite of mine.
Iāve used a ton of different weird ones in sessions before, and I think itās pretty neat seeing what enraptures each and every one of us like that.
Each mind is different, from what Iāve experienced. Itās what makes this weird world so wonderful.
Itās the time we spend together, discovering what makes a brain tick, and using that to create something special.
Focus objects are just a catalyst of that, really.
Discovering what makes our minds shut down with just a glance is a pretty fun experience.
And if I may get a little overboard nerdy here, the physics behind a focus object as well can even influence the way we go under.
For example, letās imagine a pendulum swinging back and forth.
As it goes along, that motion is perpetual.
Not shifting an inch.
The same motion, over and over again.
That solid state of consistency as the swings increase and the mind relaxes creates this illusion of blurry back and forth rhythm that enchants the mind with its tricks.
And we can increase that too.
We can swing the pendulum in a wild motion, one thatās a little more chaotic and unpredictable.
Creating this sense of ācatching upā that your mind has to do to follow the pendulumās movements.
In that, the hypnotist can help pace their programming as your mind wants to focus on the pendulum even more in its inconsistency.
And while this may not work for everyone, some fall even greater for it.
Thatās really where physics can play their part.
For me at least, itās just another factor that can make trance that much sweeter for both parties.
Not only can you discover just how analytical your mind can be focusing on that motion, but you also find how the chaos can envelop itself within.
Your mind either keeps up with the more chaotic or the more rhythmic, and you can find that perfect balance between the two that works for you.
Itās what makes trance so phenomenal, itās the air of discovery that comes along with the freedom of true mindlessness.
The brainās a wild place to explore, and I canāt wait to explore more of it.
damn Iām a dork

!!CW!! Trancey language, full dork mode.
So one thing I do wanna gush about for a moment is the pleasures of trance, if you donāt mind.
See, pleasure isnāt necessary just a sexual desire, especially for me.
Iām not driven by pleasure when it comes to trance, yet what drives me personally is the discovery and wonder behind the theory of trance.
That can be seen as a sort of pleasure in its own right, but even then I donāt see it quite the same.
Yet, pleasure is still an important tool of a hypnotic encounter, and not simply for erotic or kink reasons.
Yes, sexual pleasure can be used to elevate an experience and drive someone mad with delight, however itās not all thatās present within those circumstances.
Pleasure in general though is important simply due to its nature within our minds, we seek pleasure in any thing we may do. Itās hardwired into our brains.
Using that hardwiring for trance is where the real best parts of trance come to fruition, being able to access the pleasure centers and manipulate them for whatever the experience youāre creating requires.
Itās why some seem adrenaline, the pleasure receptors in our brain hook onto the chemical of adrenaline and embrace it as something to seek.
Pleasure within trance is a pretty similar concept, that empty euphoria creating this dizzying sensation of pure delight and emptiness that can only really be recreated by alternative measures.
Though within trance, the real speciality comes from the way this pleasure is turned on itās head.
Want to use it for an erotic trance where you pump nothing but arousal into someone? Easy peasy.
Want to redirect those pleasure centers to connect the rushes of dopamine to something using hypnosis? Totally doable.
Want to tweak those same pleasure centers ever so slightly to increase the feelings of certain emotions or desires? Always possible.
Pleasure is an important motivator in our lives, and itās important within trance to use it as we need it.
Take it from me, I personally love using pleasure and connecting it with different things like im mixing wires up on a electrical panel, moving and twisting the wires around until the brain is strung accordingly, for whatever desire I or the subject may aim for.
Itās why trance is so commonly associated with pleasure, after all. They go hand in hand due to the parts of the brain being manipulated at the same time, creating almost a double buzz within the confines of the mind, if that all makes sense.
Anyways, apologies for the ramble, I was pondering it a lot last night and here I am waking up and pondering it more.
Anyways, stay cool!
!!CW!! Trancey language again, dork warning.
To make a slightly more trancey ramble for a bit, the more I talk to people about their experience with different hypnotic objects really made me wonder something: what actually makes different things hypnotic?
Itās definitely something to research, and I think I came down to some conclusions!
Now, I should say I donāt really have any scientific basis for this claim, but itās more of a theory than anything.
Hell, I think thatās how hypnosis usually is, right?
We donāt know much about it really in terms of what actually makes trance, and I think thatās fascinating!
Anyways, with how the mind processes things optically, thereās this space between whatās perceived and whatās actually there when we look at something like a spiral.
Itās a space that isnāt actually there in your brain, but whenever youāre caught in a spiralās grasp, it feels as if your brainās got something missing when youāre trying to process whatās in front of you.
Within this space is where trance starts to spread between both realms, the real and the dream! Itās why itās an inbetween place, allowing both the deepest of trance and the most awakened state to both become one in the same!
Itās like mixing two colors together, letās say red and white!
The warmth and passion of the reds mixing together with the overwhelming emptiness of the whites creating this bright and distracting pink that lies between the two of them, becoming the perfect mix of both!
Thatās exactly what the best visuals help spread.
The best of both states of mind, the awake and the dream, creating this buzz that canāt really be replicated in any sort of way.
And thatās not even including stuff like focus objects either!
Those are more of a simple distraction for the mind, because while visuals help to spread that middle state out, hypnotic visuals simply draw your attention to them and away from your awareness.
Think of it like following along with someoneās words! The longer it goes on, the more you find yourself following and such.
Physically, itās a lot like getting out of bed first thing in the morning. Thereās this initial hesitation to even move, and some mornings you canāt help but want to keep yourself firmly planted in that warm relaxation.
And thereās nothing wrong with that! Itās the exact sensations that creates the buzz behind your favorite focus objects, drawing you out in ways only that singular object could.
Some people fall hard for different stuff, and that space thatās created from them following their focus object deeper and deeper down can be greatly affected by what focus object youāre using.
Take me for example, Iām a big fan of metronomes because of the visual aid combined with the audio aids provided by the back and forth ticks of the tempo keeping your mind in time.
While I may not fall for pendulums as hard, the metronome draws that inner focus away from my awareness and into that double whammy of ticks and tocks back and forth, creating the space we all know as trance!
Itās really only a theoretical idea that Iāve had, but I do think the differences between visual aids and focus objects are really cool!
And of course, each one can be used in different ways!
Maybe you just wanna draw someone out for a while and help their brain chill out.
You could always use a spiral, but some fall for focus objects harder, and vice versa!
Thatās what I think is the best part: that initial discovery between the two.
Where our minds are free to explore what absolutely wrecks our brains and what doesnāt quite tick the same boxes.
My best advice to see what sticks for you is try a ton of stuff out! Thereās endless gifs online of spirals and focus objects, so just finding out what clicks for you isnāt quite hard.
On top of that, I recommend finding objects and visuals that align with what your brain already enjoys.
Love the color pink? Pink spirals or objects!
Fan of certain body parts? Try finding gifs that really strike you in their motion, whether thatās an up and down motion, back and forth, or just a simple swing!
Thereās an infinite world out there of trance to explore, and it can be really fun finding what clicks for you in this crazy space we all share!
Anyways, excuse me for all my rambles lately, Iāve been really hooked on simple trance concepts and just had to go off!
Take it easy and stay cool!
