While kids his age were busy at the playground, Kihun had already been through the dictionary twice and started reading novels. He was 7 years old then. The teachers looking after him were taken aback; his learning speed was rapid, his speech was refined and his cognition seemed to be way more advanced. This discovery was raised to his parents, who took him to take a test. And when the results were finally back, Kihun received an IQ score of 171.

While the news is technically a good one, as their society valued education and knowledge as a whole— it is also rather daunting. Taking care of a genius child is not a very easy task, his interests and perception of the world were different.

Over time, it has become a known fact that Kihun is not... a 'standard' person. But he is, at his core, still a human being— so why the difference?

While it is not intentional by the people closest to him, there are some phrases and words said in front of him that the young Kihun has heard and remembered. His parents, teachers, friends and even some strangers are all included.

Here are some examples:

❝ You're so different, […] ❞

❝ You're not like the rest, […] ❞

❝ You seemed so normal, I thought […] ❞

❝ Because you don't think like everyone else, […] ❞

❝ My child could never do what you do, […] ❞

And of course, there are more.

Hearing all of these since young has told Kihun that he is not someone 'normal'. In his 20s, he chased that normalcy desperately and it did not come to fruition. Now that he is in his mid 30s, he no longer does that... because he knows that it is simply unattainable. Instead, he embraces his genius and creates Sterea, a domain for his own capabilities.
