i made a compromise with the top two that literally tied person for person (and they were the only two that i made up thank you very much I'll take the applause)

Ao3: (Sitting and checking on analytics to see how users are doing and what fics are being read the most)

Tumblr: So... the users spoke up. There are probably ways to make reblogs better, but, uh... disconnecting the reblog chains aren't really it. According to them

Ao3: (Seeing what fics in certain fandoms are doing well) Hm

Tumblr: We rolled back the update. The users and artists need all the visibility they can get and... the update... Just ain't it

Ao3: (Pushing up glasses and eying the tablet they're using for work) Hm

Tumblr: ... You were right

Ao3: And?

Tumblr: ... I shouldn't push updates that make my site worse

Ao3: And?

Tumblr: (Sigh) And I learned my lesson. I'm an idiot

Tumblr: (sad)

Ao3: (Smiling) But that's okay. (Stands and kisses them on the forehead) You're MY idiot. (Not smiling anymore) Don't do something like this again. Not unless you're ready to lose a lot of users, and you can't let that happen. And these users can't afford to lose a site like yours now. Make updates, but keep the users in mind. You need them, they need you

For @geopsych 's Autumn Treasure Hunt, here are some tidbits from Northern California for Theme #5: Falling and Fallen Leaves:

A reflection of Chinese pistache foliage that's only an illusion of "fallen." And two particularly beautiful fallen leaves: Wild grape (red) and fig (yellow). Oh, and one of my favorite Falling Leaves moments is sitting under a Valley Oak and watching the deeply lobed leaves come slowly spiralling down!
