Hunter liked Ivan, he really did. He'd never had a gay friend before and it was nice to have someone that he could feel a sense of community with.
That being said, Ivan could also be a little annoying. He meant that in the nicest way possible, but as someone who'd spent his whole life going out of his way to avoid arguments, Ivan's need to argue about everything and anything did grind his gears, just a little.
He knew the spear was going to cause an argument because it was flashy and a little gaudy, and that kinda defeated the whole point of being inconspicuous so the jag didn't notice the spears until it was too late. But he wasn't going to be the one to say anything.
"Do you always gotta be so extra all the time?" Scotty asked. Hunter wrinkled his nose. There had to be a better way to ask that.
"I don't know. Do you gotta be so short?" Ivan asked, voice colored with annoyance. "So petite? So chode sized?"
Hunter laughed, surprised by the insult. Scotty glared at him and he cleared his throat. "Sorry."
Ivan and Scotty continued to argue and Hunter sighed. He wasn't even sure what the argument was about. Maybe they were just fighting to hide their nerves about the jag. It was easier to be angry than to be scared.
Whatever the reason, it was annoying as fuck.
"Bo, can I borrow your knife?"
Bo looked over at him. "Why?"
"So I can stab my eardrums so I don't gotta listen to this shit."
Bo laughed and went back to sharpening the top of his spear.

9. How did they feel a out being transferred to Lunaris?
In general, Kova is used to moving around, so she didn’t feel particularly bad about having to pick up and move again. That isn’t to say that she loves having to repeatedly start over, and in weaker moments she desires very normal creature comforts- her own bed, her own space, happy neighbors. Thankfully, she does love her job enough to be content with the lifestyle.
Also, with the nature of the job, she is used to entering into some bad situations to play “clean-up,” so to speak. However, she wasn’t expecting Lunaris to be quite this bad.
She got a reality check within the first few moments of being in Lunaris:

Things are complicated for Kova at the moment:
