- most closely related to rats and shrews, but has genetic ties to the extinct cave hyena. impossible to domesticate but still used for pest control. incredibly effective at it, though you will wake up with fingers missing if you don't have enough vermin in your house

- hypercarnivore that subsists on red meat. main diet is mammals larger than itself, it severs it into pieces with its razor sharp claws & teeth before consuming. voracious appetite, can eat up to 2x its body weight a day

- jaw unhinges like a snake

- microscopic barbs on paw pads allow grip on nearly any surface (spiderman style)

- prehensile tail

- retractable claws

- the resemblance to a happy smile is entirely a coincidence ; thats just how its face is structured. it cant make many other expressions.

- venomous (neurotoxic), eats prey alive after paralyzing it. potent enough to cause severe flu-like symtoms in humans

- they live in hidden burrows with expansive tunnels and are fiercely territorial

- they make minimal sound. the ones they do make is purring when content, and a lurching, high picthed laughter-like noise in response to high emotion

- shows affectionate behaviour before attacking to catch prey off guard. if its nuzzling you without purring, it is going to Bite You
