Invasive conversation has never been of particular concern to Yondu. He doesn’t like small talk-- dancing around each other with vague niceties that don’t mean a damned thing. He likes to see a person’s soul laid bare on the table between them-- a meaty conversation that tells him what they’re really about.
Drax isn’t exactly an ENIGMA. But his family? That’s something worth hearing about. Families change people, for better or for worse.
And-- to some extent-- Yondu knows what it’s like to see an entire life go up in ashes, even if-- in his own case-- he was the one carrying the TORCH.
