Notes: this takes place directly in the complex series but i was also inspired by "my sparkling, do not resist," and "Sparkling Protocol" i had the fun idea that griffin rock residents are so very not normal and thus would not be freaked out. and lack of freakout means they can be menaces >:D
Summary:
When sparklings in human form were discovered, Heatwave was among the many who were eager to get to Earth and find his own. When he found 9 sparklings in one town, he thought Primus had smiled upon him. How little he knew that these sparklings had grown up in the Unicron cursed land of Griffin Rock. For these families, it might not be every week they were abducted by an alien robot, but it certainly didn't rank as weird. This family of heroes just wants to get back to their day jobs.
Chapter TWarnings: stalking, death of family members, past child abuse, apocalypse

Snippets: Life in Griffin Rock hadn't changed that much since the Apocalypse. The town had been almost entirely self sufficient with clean energy and food, all that needed to be done when the bombs came down was set up a Radiation Shield (which they already had, but not activated) and fast growing planters for crops they normally exported. ... For most of the townsfolk, it was like nothing had changed at all. Living under a dome everyday wasn't even slightly weird for this town where Sci-Fi met reality. This, of course, included the emergencies. From natural disasters, to tech going out of control, to Mr. Pettypaws (yes it was only that one cat specifically) being stuck in a tree, things were almost never dull. ... After the bombs came down though, he admitted there was no way he could keep wasting time looking for aliens when he could instead be looking for humans in need of help. So that's what he did, while the rest of the family stayed on Griffin Rock preforming rescue work, Woody went out to mainland to find surviving human settlements and create a trade route back to Griffin Rock. For safety reasons, he was meant to return to island for a day every 3 months. He always came back with stories and odd happenings he heard about on his travels, from stories of giant robots and government experiments gotten lose, to the crazy cultists he'd talked to. ... To say Heatwave was excited to be on Earth would be an understatement even if he didn't show it. ... But with the human sparklings discovered, it changed the whole trajectory of their efforts. Now, every bot was scrambling for a chance to claim their own little treasure. Heatwave was no different, sparklings were precious and Earth was currently dangerous for them.
End notes: Heatwave's backstory is based on LavaticHellBorn's writing of him
