“Its so cold outside.” Bucky stated with a shiver as he quickly got back into bed and under the cover’s.
“I hate it.” Y/n mumbled into the comforter she had pulled up to her nose.
“Me too. But it’s winter.” Bucky understood it was the time of year and season for it to be freezing but he also had had enough of the cold and Ice to last a lifetime.
“Almost Christmas time.” Y/n pointed out. It was the middle of December and at least it was almost Christmas since they had to deal with the cold.
“Can’t wait.” Bucky smiled, pulling her into him so they were chest to chest, effectively warming the both of them up. It would be their first Christmas as an official couple and they were both excited to spend it together.
“Hmmmm. . . How about you and me? Just the two of us. We go, I don’t know, ice skating and get hot coco?” Y/n suggested getting excited to do some winter couple things with Bucky.
“You had me at ‘You and me’.” Bucky tilted his head down to kiss her forehead.
“I’m excited to spend Christmas with you.” Y/n blushed, biting her lip. Bucky and her had been good friends for a few years before the two started dating and they had spent Christmas together before with the rest of their Avenger family. But this was the first time with them being a couple and Y/n couldn’t help but be excited. She hoped it would be the first of many.
“I am to . . . I’m so grateful for you this Christmas, I don’t need anything else.” Bucky smiled at the blush he could see on her cheeks. He spoke 100% truth in his statement. He was grateful to have her in his life as a friend. Even more grateful to have her in his life as a lover and that was all he needed or wanted for Christmas.
“Neither do I.” Y/n leaned her head back, stretching her neck to kiss his nose.
“So Ice skating.” Bucky drawled out trying to distract her from his own blushing cheeks and neck.
“Yes? What about it?” Y/n looked at him curiously wondering where he was headed.
Bucky sighed looking at her through his eyelashes with almost a pout on his face. “My balance is gonna suck.”
Y/mn let out a spue of giggles at his admission. “I’ll help you. Don’t worry.”
“I trust you.” Bucky couldn’t help but smile appreciating her laughter. He trusted Y/n to help him on skates. As the couple’s amusement died down and they just stared into eachothers eyes Y/n reached up with her free hand to gently rub the wrist of his hand holding her cheek. Tomorrow would be a fun yet interesting day.

Ice Skating / Next Day
“This already feels like a bad idea.” Bucky squinted with his hands on his hips. The rink was decently busy, and the more Bucky watched the people skate the more nervous he got.
“Give it a chance. If you really don’t like it we’ll just go get hot coco. Now come on.” Y/n smiled, shaking her head as she finished lacing both of their skates. Y/n stood up grabbing Bucky’s hand and pulling him over to the ice.
Once they both got on the ice both were a bit wobbly but Y/n got in the groove of it fairly fast, Bucky on the other hand was not ready to let go of the wall lining the rink.
“How do people do this?” Bucky would definitely be giving more credit to the players next time him and the guy’s watched a hockey game.
“Practice. You're not doing bad.” Y/n shook her head smiling, he was doing great for someone who had never been on skate’s before.
“Are you kidding me?” Bucky glanced up at her from focusing on his feet in exaggeration. She had to be kidding.
“No, I’m not. It’s not the easiest thing, Buck.” Y/n sent him an encouraging look before grabbing both of his hands in hers and pulled him away from the wall getting him to start going around the rink with her. Y/n kept a hold of his hands as she skated backwards.
“You're pretty good at this.” Bucky noted watching her to distract himself from how wobbly he was.
“Lot’s of practice.” She answered, speeding them up just a tad.
“I think I’m getting the hang of it.” Bucky let out a light laugh proud of himself for not having fallen so far.
“You are.” Y/n nodded in agreement. He was getting the hang of it. Y/n was proud of him.
The two of them continued to skate for over an hour. They were just enjoying themselves and having a fantastic time. When they decided to be done and leave the skate rink and went to get hot coco before going home.
“I had fun today.” Y/n smiled leaning into Bucky’s side, linkling their arms together.
“Me too Doll.” Bucky smiled, placing a kiss on top of her head.
“Thank you.” Y/n lent her head against his bicep, taking a sip of her coco.
“For what?” He furrowed his brow, confused as to what she was thanking him for.
Y/n turned her head up to look at him directly. She wanted to look in his beautiful blue eyes. “For doing this with me today.”
Bucky enjoyed the day just as much as she did, he ended up having a lot of fun. Besides, he'd do anything for her. “Anything for you, doll. I had fun today.”
Y/n leant up on her toes placing a kiss on his lip’s. “This is going to be a good Christmas.”
“I believe so.” Bucky had a feeling that this just might be the best Christmas.
