the fallow deer is known to be the only deer species to form true leks, or "bachelor groups" of bucks that defend one small territory during mating season to attempt to impress does.

Well, yesterday it turned 30 and something did change. It's like any sense of shame and propriety just imploded overnight. It's just gone. This doe feels both utterly relieved and strangely positive about it's future. It just... stopped giving F's? Does that make sense?

It just feels like looking back and seeing how much it cared about things that doesn't matter in the slightest. And that suddenly this realisation crashed over it, making so many past worries pointless.
