You know you're starved for dnd when you and a friend are arguing over the colors of a fictional wedding for past campaign charecters!
Symph strummed his ukulele atop the small stage in the inn. He saw Norcan mixing drinks and talking merrily to Creed, who was taking a pause from writing a letter. Candle sat next to Creed, a new star speckled hat upon their head and a spellbook in hand. Gadget was off to the side, tinkering with the bell hanging above the door, signifying the entry of people.
Their inn was full of people in the late evening. Young adventurers, friends, locals. The cultists had warmed up to the town of Goldenfeilds and hand their own table. The little bell rang and in came Mama Toric, Melody and Joshua. The young boy ran directly for the bar, away from his adoptive parents, to say hello to his big brother.
Symph smiled at the scene before him and sang;
This world is full of complicated things
And theres no shortness of sadness to be felt
But for now there are just happy things to see
So wont you share a smile with me?
Friends are forever, love is felt wholly
Magic and family long will reign
What a perfect time to laugh and make merry
Now that the threat is slain
This world is full of complicated things
And theres no shortage of sadness to be felt
But for now there are just happy things to see
So wont you share a smile with me?
With barbarian strength, roughish cunning, wizardly smarts, artifactual tinkering and bardish melodies
We went through the hardships and had enough courage
To bring peace for many to live and to see
This world is full of complicated things
And theres no shortage of sadness to be felt
But the time is now and five heroes made it so
You can share your smile with all

There are people who have claimed that snakes are an invention of the patriarchy. I usually don’t dignify these claims with a response, but I recently had an experience that opened my eyes to the amount of people who believe this. So, I’ve decided to settle this. Here is a medieval portrait of a snake, which proves that snakes predate the patriarchy and thus can’t be a product of it.

The Letters
Creed sniffled softly, as he reached for the pendant that hung around his neck and looked down at it. He always kept it tucked underneath his shirt and if not he always manage to keep it out of sight from the others. It was a gift from his mother, she gave to him when he became a member of the crowns guard. He remembered how both happy and worried she looked that day. As he rubbed the gem in between his fingers he looked over to a desk in the corner of the room for a moment before sighing and held the jewel tightly in his grasp. 'No more running,' he told himself as he stood up and walked towards the desk, grabbing his bag on the way as he pulled out his quil, ink, and parchment and started to write away.
'My dearest Mother, I am sorry it had taken me so long to write to you, it brings great pain to have left you without any explanation. After I saw my friends hug his mother it made me realized how much I missed your comforting embrace...'
Creed had begun to write letters, one to each of those he held dear. Letting them know he was okay, telling them about the people hes met and all of the things he's seen and experienced. Making sure not to leave any single detail out as he quickly went through pages upon pages of parchment.
'My dear sister, Forgive me for taking so long to write you. You can bash me upside the head if you like if we ever see each other again for my sheer stupidity. But I must tell you about this talented Tabaxi I met while I've been away...'
'Brother, I know it had been ages since that day, I hope you're doing well and your men fall in line quite nicely. I know I wasn't so obedient back in those days, I think you and a dear friend of mine would get along quite nicely...'
As he made it to the final person he needed to write to, he stopped, his quil hovering over the page as his hand shook. His mind beginning to dewell over the feelings of him, wondering if he'll ever read it, if he'll just throw it away, or if he'll respond. His mind stopped making these false illusions by shaking his head and for once telling himself something postive. 'You can do this.' Creed then took a deep breath as he began to write the letter and for once, a genuine smile appeared on his face as he wrote it.
' My beloved William, I am sorry it has taken me so long to write you, no words can describe the guilt I feel. But I do not ask for your forgiveness, I know I am un worthy of that, instead all I ask is that you read this. You do not have to respond but I must tell you everything that has happened since I left home...'
The vampire’s ballad
Symph sat in the forest under the stars he so hated. It was the only time he could be outside without his hat or his cloak on account of his vampirism. He strummed his ukulele sadly.
“ Like a quick flash of lightning, ive become frightening, to the ones i love. Ive become cursed, thanks to the unloving gods above.
They say ‘oh bite me’ i reply 'try me’ see, if i care. I’ll watch them grow older, cat, prince and soldier and ill remain the same. Life isnt easy, love is a gamble and all of its a game. All of its a game.
Blood runs cold, teeth grow pointed, eyes become red, and then there. A monster is born, a creature so horrid, It all just doesnt seem fair. Ill try to push through it, even though it hurts me to live the way I am. Ill smile through the weakness, grin through the hunger, though its all a sham.
They say 'oh bite me’ i reply 'try me’ see, if i care. I’ll watch them grow older, cat, prince and soldier and ill remain the same. Life isnt easy, love is a gamble and all of its a game. All of its a game. ”
He concludes the song, his voice cracking with the last line. Symph rests his head against the tree he sits against. He lets the tears drop sadly down his cheeks as he mourns his own life. Sure its a second chance, but it still hurts.
Holly knows best
Holly stood behind the bar across from her ward. A Firbolg boy no older than 19 telling her he was leaving. Not only leaving her, but leaving with two lowlife adventurers.
"Norcan, why would you ever want to leave us? Youre going to leave Joshua to do all of your work? Or worse, Michael?" She spat at the one armed man.
"Miss Holly, I need to go, I need to experience whats out there. " Norcan was trying to keep his voice level. She had his prosthetic. He needed it to live. To fight.
Holly held the wooden arm in a tight grip. "After everything I've done for you. The roof over your head, the meals, the bed to sleep on, you dare to abandon your family? Your home? " Miss Holly accused. She ought to break this accursed arm just as her snake had broken the real one.
"W...With all due respect Miss Holly...a bar isn't a home..." Norcan stuttered. He was much taller than her and yet her presence towered over him. He was afraid of her.
" How dare you. I gave up so much just to keep you here and you repay me by running off with those two idiots?!" She hissed, not daring to yell and wake the other two. "And for what? Some cheap thrills?"
"No, Miss Holly, it isnt like that at all-!" he was cut off.
" Why would you even think these two would ever want to have you around? They're just going to take advantage of you, you're too dumb to see it. " she shook her head as if scolding a silly child.
Norcan couldn't get a word in edgewise.
" I raised you to be smarter than that. You belong here. Remember, Holly knows b-" she was cut off
"No!" Norcan said. As soon as the word left his mouth he regretted it. He saw the look on her face and his stomach turned.
" No?" And then she laughed. "No?! I see how it is! You think you know what is right for you even though you've never made a decision for yourself! You think you're strong and mature enough to survive out there? You think you're so clever? So grown up? A man?" Holly's laughs ended and her smile was cold as she saw Norcans look of flimsy determination. " Oh, fine, if you're so sure, you go right ahead, and make sure you show them this!" She threw his prosthetic at him. He barely had time to catch it.
" Trust me, child. They'll leave you fast. If you think you truly know best, go. Go and be a disappointment to me, Michael and Joshua. Go and let those new friends down. And if they abandon you because of your stupidity, don't come crying to me. Because I know its going to happen. I know best. " And with that, she walked up the stairs, away from him.
Norcan only let himself breathe once she had left. The breath turned to a sob. He was finally free.
