Seeing all this stuff about Game Over Verse has made me decide I won't be watching it
I already don't really care about most Glitch productions mediums besides Gaslight District
Especially with idiots hating (and sensible people criticizing) the appearance of female characters in the pilot when the designer of them said she was also a woman like that meant it was absolved of all criticism. Personally, they all look the same, the same conventionally attractive figure 'n all, I don't care if "they're from the same universe"
CHARACTERS CAN BE FROM THE SAME PLACE AND LOOK DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT personally I feel like if a bunch of characters are gonna be very similar in appearance to each other, you need a reason for it, if you have a bad one or none at all, it's not good,
I have intention on creating a game and there are generally seven main species, and while they're all humanoid, its just because its better for their more advanced lives, not just because "I want more interesting humans"
Like from the two people and Kit I've seen who are supposedly from the same universe, they all really look like they're from the same base model but with different accessories, I don't want like, horrendous looking characters, just people that aren't copy+paste of each other.
I saw an image comparing the variety of the male characters in comparison to the female characters and it was wild, and, yeah, it does, at least a VERY SMALL bit, like a 0.0001% chance, that some sexism could be in play here, I'm not really qualified to speak about this besides that everyone, including women, can be misogynistic. Anyways, the clip of whoever voiced by Jschlatt suddenly fucking exploding and screaming is the only positive thing I've seen from this show, its fucking hilarious
Also what happens if the game is like Sonic where if the protagonist doesn't win their friends are gonna like, be forced into slavery or die or smthn, like, not every game is just
"X cute character needs to defeat the evil Y character!"
"X character needs to defeat the actual dictator who if not stopped will fully conquer the world and subject everyone to years of endless working until they drop dead where their children will be forced to do the same while the villain gets richer and richer to do the same to the rest of the universe"
A good question would be, would you rather have your friends alive but in constant despair, or have them die in bliss?
This show doesn't seem like it wants to ask those questions, it unironically feels like Spiderverse with Canon events but theres even more questions somehow
What about games where things are already fucked?
