I have a question and im sure you get this a lot by your conservatives friends 1. If Chicago’s gun control works then why does it have so much gun violence? 2. Why is New York expensive in a liberal state? 3. California homeless problem? You don’t have to answer 😆 stay safe!
1. In regards to Chicago Gun Control, I wrote about it a few years ago and it still holds true. Read more here.
2. New York (city) is expensive in a liberal state because it’s an International Capital. They’re beasts of their own. Big cities are a thing, but international capitals (London, Paris, NYC, etc.) are fucking swarmed with foreign investors, financial industries/brokerages, immigration, elite immigration, etc. There are parts of NYC and New York State that are actually liveable, especially on a NYC Salary. But normal economics doesn’t really work there.
Look at the Housing Market, for example. You’re not getting too much Korean Speculative Real Estate in Kansas City, for example.
3. California has a population of over 40 million, is an agriculture state (meaning much more seasonal/temporary work), with a large population draw in very small cities plus almost no real public investment in homelessness abatement projects. New York and Hawaii both have higher proportions of homeless people, but both states also spend a lot more money per person on resolving the issue.
