(This is a top-down original monster based around, well, sheep's association with sleep and dreams. It quickly became apparent that this would be a fun ally monster for an enemy enchanter, and possibly an ally for a PC, purchased or through the teamwork feat.)

CR4 TN Small Magical Beast

Somnaires are artificially bred sheep magically imbued with powers of sleep. They are frequently kept by enchanters who wish to soften up their targets, or those suffering from insomnia or nightmares. Somnaires are also kept for their wool- the wool from a single individual can account for 100gp worth of materials for a magic item in the Enchantment school; it takes one month for a somnaires to regrow its wool.

In addition to blacksheep, some somnaires are gifted with a heightened intelligence and the ability to speak; such individuals often take levels in classes like psychic, mesmerist, or bard, becoming terrifying threats in their own right.

Blacksheep Blacksheep are a rare mutation that occurs in somnaires; despite the name, their wool is dyed a deep blue. Creatures within a blacksheep’s Aura of Slumber lose immunity to all mind-affecting effects. This does not affect mindless creatures. Additionally, blacksheep trade their Dream Shield spell-like ability for Nightmare usable 3/day. Blacksheep are CR5 and usually neutral evil.

This item’s ingenious design is a (probably) one of a kind item. As you twist the crank to produce the jolly sounds of this already odd instrument, you can fire bolts into your enemies.

The Winter Prince was originally inspired by The Prince of Frost that I came across while looking at examples of Archfey in DnD lore. Although inspired from this, his personality and most of his history and abilities were completely home-brewed to fit our campaign. I still wanted to keep that cold stand offish personality but instead of being emotionless I wanted to make it more regal, haughty and playfully cruel. Thranduil from the Hobbit was a very big inspiration for his overall vibe. I had lots of discussions with my DM of how I thought he should be like and we built his character up together, she also helped me select a handful of ice based spells that I could supplement for the traditional Archfey spell additions. 

So I don’t know if I can help much with finding sources because The Winter Prince in our campaign has been changed quite a bit however I remember during my research that people have made and shared homebrew patron stats for similar Archfey like The Snow Queen. I’ll include some of the link below! And If you’d like I’d be happy to go back and find the ice spells that my DM and I are using for Eddie! 

Speaking of the Snow Queen, if wasn’t already quite obvious with Edmund’s name, the relationship between The White Witch and Edmund from C.S Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was also one of my big inspirations! The Winter prince’s castle and throne room were all inspired from the Witch’s castle in the film. A lesser known fact is Edmund’s favourite food is Turkish Delights because of this ahaha.
