After finding out that strychnine was used as a stimulant in the 19th century, I have decided that was the stimulant Holmes was utilizing before he began using cocaine. Watson is unhappy about his cocaine usage but reasonably pleased he has switched to a stimulant with a higher toxicity threshold limit as having to treat him for strychnine poisoning once was enough for Watson to threaten to sever their partnership.

ok guys im telling you i firmly believe that Holmes is somewhere on the aspec and gay, in the original ACD stories especially. there may be variations or different takes on this canon that puts him on different parts of that spectrum but in the end that is what he is and that is what he will be if he is interpreted in an adaptation correctly. his homosexuality or aspec-ness may be focused on more in certain adaptations or media or whatever but in the end both can and should be tied to his original identity. if an adaptation or medium tries to deviate from this fact i will scrutinize it heavily at the very least. because with such a broad category as aspec you can explore so much of the feelings he “lacks” in the eyes of others (yes! it doesnt just have to be aroace either btw). and with whichever attraction he may have to his flatmate should still be explored, too. and of course once again, because i cannot stress this enough, i will block a bitch if you ship him with Irene Norton née Adler
