I know I've posted this poem too many times(and I'm gonna post more of it) but it's just so pretty. I mean,at first when I read it,it was confusing, then I reread it dozen more times and now every other night I'm dreaming of being in the woods and the trees are murmuring and the leaves whispering and there's a broken throne with a ruined crown on it.
Send help, and by help I mean the Noah Shaw book.

The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
common ya lit tropes - girls: sharp, dark, and cunning
She leans back in her chair, sips from her cup with a newspaper in hand, watches you with an eyebrow slightly raised. Without seeming to try, she sets herself apart from the rest, always ready with a dry quip or observation. At least a little cynical, she is. An outsider, yet an insider. Easily passed over, yet striking if you really look at her. Perhaps she’s just wry. Perhaps she’s about to trick you out of your wallet. Perhaps she’s thinking about fingering her hidden knife or gun. But whatever she’s doing, she has a master plan.
examples (feel free to add any!): Lila Bard (Shades of Magic, V.E. Schwab), Katarina Bishop (Heist Society, Ally Carter), Julep Dupree (Trust Me, I’m Lying, Mary Elizabeth Summer), Mara Amitra Dyer (Mara Dyer Series, Michelle Hodkin), Jessamy (Court of Fives, Kate Elliot)

“I wish we could make out in your bed.“ Noah sighed. “As do I, but I’m afraid we have a ritual burning to conduct.” “It’s always something.” the evolution of mara dyer p. 202-203
