cardboard flies
Are those flies made of cardboard, flies that have evolved to fill the niche of “lays eggs in things that are in Magnus,” or both? ...God, what if there’s an entire ecosystem of things that live in Magnus World and that’s how all this stuff rots so quickly?
(They say living things can’t be stored in a Magnus, but that’s clearly not true because of a) food rotting and fermenting and b) the fact that if you keep eggs in your inventory they hatch into birds that then grow up.)
(I also have like an entire page of questions about things like “why does putting something in a Magnus sometimes make the object disappear and sometimes not” and “why can you sometimes take multiple copies of the same thing out of a Magnus and sometimes not.” Similar to my list of questions about wings.)

I still liked P3 better – it felt more thematically coherent – but I’d still call P4 one of the best PS2 games :D
The thing that really impressed me about Persona 4 is the sense of place. Probably the most evocative “normal” world of any urban fantasy story I’ve ever seen. You really get the atmosphere of the stifling small town where everyone knows everyone and rumors spread like smallpox because there’s nothing else to do and everything goes strange and fey and deserted when the weather’s bad. Both Persona 2 and 3 just kinda happen in A City (though 2 wins everything in the category of “characterization of the non-party populace via nameless NPCs”), but Inaba feels like a character in itself.
The Social Link tarot symbolism is a little more on point, too, and that appeals to me personally. :::PPP
On the other hand, I could do with 1000% less of the “creeping on/being a douchebag to girls is funny, right” trope, and P4 has two of those characters in the main party (whereas in P3 the main perpetrator could mostly be avoided by not doing his social link, and the secondary perpetrator actually gets better about it), and Persona 3 has a dog and he is Best Dog.
