thinking once again about how wade's endless rambles, mostly coming from the mess of voices inside his gooped-up head, are able to drown out the screaming voices inside logan's head.
thinking about how cassandra offered to silence those voices for logan, but logan probably doesn't want that in the first place. those are voices of his friends. his tether to his horrible decisions but also: the people in his past. just like the suit he kept on his skin.
however much of a relief it was to not hear them, silencing them is the last thing logan wants.
but wade is able to give him something louder than those voices. a noisy reminder that life goes on. a new annoying tether to the present and the future. pushing him to stop walking in circles and keep going.
"it's like an armadillo fucked a gremlin! angrily!"
stupid. stupid stupid stupid. words really just fall out of his mouth with the velocity of shooting stars.
and as wrong as this may sound, as much as wade hates himself for it, logan is forever grateful for whatever made wade such a loud, stupid, blabbering mess.

The house was quiet sans the light music playing from Jensenâs phone. He had made breakfast and waited for you to wake up to join him, but when the door to his room never opened, he figured heâd go and check in on you.Â
You were awake, which was good, but unfortunately for you, you were in no mood to eat. He found you in the adjoining bathroom, hacking your guts out; and it quite literally was your guts, cause he knows for a fact that you havenât eaten much.
He wasnât sure how long you had been in there, but according to you it was too long. You were in tears telling him that you just wanted to go back to bed.
After about another half hour of him holding back your hair and running his fingers along your back, your body had finally let up and stopped you from heaving into the toilet bowl.
Jensen finally got you back to bed a little after that and you had fallen asleep quite quickly, which he was kind of grateful for. But thatâs what brought him back here; back in the kitchen packing up what he had made into little containers and sticking them in the fridge.Â
Another meal untouched and stacked in the large cooler for him to munch on later by himself.
He heard a few knocks in the distance as he stuck the few tupperware containers in one of the free spaces in the fridge and before he could stand again, his visitor had let himself in.
Jared made sure the door was shut all the way before glancing around the quiet apartment. Jensen locked eyes with him for a moment before grabbing a rag from the sink and wiping down the counter.
âWhereâs Y/N?â
âSleeping.â Jensen answered without looking up from the counter.
âHow she doing?â Was the next question as Jared stepped up to the island, trying to avoid touching the recently cleaned marble as he took a seat on one of the barstools.Â
Jensen didnât answer right away. He finished his quick wipe down and then took the rag back to itâs original resting place.
âWhere do I start?â It was more of a statement than a question, but either way, Jared sat in silence and waited for his friend to continue as he turned and leaned against the counter.
âSheâs been getting sick around the clock. She canât keep anything down.â his hand smacked against the cabinet before pushing himself off of it. âSheâs always cold, so then I wrap her up just for her to be a sweating mess a few minutes later. She has body aches all the time. Probably from getting sick so much, I donât know. Oh! And when she isnât awake dealing with all of that crap, sheâs sleeping. Which is great, except for the fact that Iâm terrified every second of everyday that Iâll walk in one of these times to find her not breathing because sheâs choked on her own throw up or something.â
Whether the countertop was dry or not, Jensen didnât seem to care. He rested his hands on the clean marble and let his defeated self fall limp, leaving his faith in his hands to keep him standing upright.
Jared was hurting for both of you, and just like Jensen, he wished he could do something to fix all of this, but that sadly was not possible.
âWell, the doctor said that the side effects should only last about a week.â
âYeah, well, this has been the longest week of my damn life.â Jensen came back with quickly, his exhausted face snapping up to meet Jaredâs âItâs only been three days and I want to give up.â
âI know.â Jensen never gave up, especially when it came to you, but Jared knew that it was his exhaustion talking. âBut, just hang in there, alright? Itâll be over soon.â Jared then took a second to glance down the hall. Jensenâs bedroom door was shut and it was extremely quiet, especially since Jensen turned his music off.
âHave you heard anything about them?â Knowing who he was talking about, Jensen just looked across at his friend, trying to control the anger that was filling his face.
âNo.â
âWell, Iâm sure that theyâre taking care of it.â he muttered before standing and going for the fridge, his dry mouth dying for something to drink.
âYeah, well they better be. Cause Iâll tell you what, if they donât, Iâm going to drive over there and take care of it myself.â
âJensen...â The defeated, warning tone had Jensen spinning around, his now wide eyes starring at his friend as he popped off the top to one of the beers he had left.
âWhat!? You canât tell me that you donât want to beat their faces in.â
âYouâre right. I canât. Hell, I want to do more than that, but you and I both know that, that will only hurt us in the long run. The system doesnât care about due justice. Weâd be booked for assault and attempted murder and you know it.â He knew Jared was right, but that didnât stop him from wanting to do it still.
âY/N needs you now. You need to be here.â
Let us make you feel good
Hearing your sick boyfriends voice whispering in your ear had you gasping awake and trembling as the fear of what happened might be happening again. But as you opened your eyes and saw that you were in Jensenâs bedroom, you took a deep breath and let the safety of your surroundings make you feel better.
The nightmares were pretty constant, and sadly you knew that they wouldnât go anywhere for awhile. Unfortunately, this was just something that you had to deal with for the rest of your life now.
Some people can so easily say âit was a long time agoâ or âitâs in the pastâ and tell you âitâs time to get over itâ or âmove onâ âstop letting it hold you backâ. But only people who have survived something so terrible know that there is no moving on. Thereâs only, learn to live with it.
The door to the room let out a quiet âclickâ as it opened, and you looked over to see Jensen slowly move into the room, a soft smile on his face when he saw that you were awake.
âHey.â You try to smile back, but itâs hard for how much pain you were in. âDid I wake you?â
âNo.â you lightly shake your head as you slowly push yourself up, propping yourself up against the pillows behind you.Â
âIâm so sore.â you cry quietly and Jensen sees you wince as you try to get comfortable, and it kills him. But he continues to move towards the bed, placing the back of his hand against your forehead when he knows youâre done moving.
âYour fevers gone.â
âFor now.â He smiles sadly as he takes a seat at the edge of the bed, giving you enough space to move if you need to. But as you both sit there in silence, you recognize the defeated look on his face, even though heâs clearly trying to hide it from you.
âYou okay?â you finally ask him, the sleep still evident in your voice. He glances in your direction, his lip twitching as it tries to smile, but fails.
âHow can you ask me that?â Taking it personally, you physically feel the blow before you let out a shaky breath.
âIâm sorry.â Jensenâs eyes then snap to you, but you donât notice right away for your gaze is down in the sheets.
âWhat? What for?â
âI should have listened to you. I should have left him sooner.â He remains silent, cause letâs be honest, he canât disagree with that last sentence. But as you start to become emotional and he hears the quiet sobs building up, he shifts so that heâs facing you a little more.
âI didnât think that he would do that to me.â The deep inhale was like a knife to his gut. It killed him to see you like this. It killed him to know what had happened to you. It killed him to know that he couldnât save you when you needed him most. Everything about this, killed him.
âMe neither.â As your teary eyes lift to meet his, the dam breaks. You heave out a breath of air and then fall into him, and he quickly wraps his arms around you and holds you tight.
It was the truth. He knew Randy was a five star dick, but he honestly didnât think he would do something like that to you.
To get a little more comfortable, Jensen climbed up into the bed with you, trying his best not to shift you too much as he takes your spot against the headboard. He practically pulls you into his lap as you curl yourself into his arms and cry into his chest.
He shushes you quietly as he lightly rocks you back and forth, his right hand running over your hair as he tried everything in his power to bring you comfort, and he just let you break.
You probably cried for a good twenty minutes or more, heâs not sure. But even as you start to calm, he doesnât move or make any indication that you should. He just holds you and waits for you to make the first move.
After a few moments though, he hears a weird noise come from you. Almost like you may get sick, so that makes him pull away slightly and look down at you with concern.
âYou okay?â You barely give him a nod before you pull away even more.
âYeah. Iâm sorry.â
âDonât be.â You sit up even more now, being completely free from his grasp so you can wipe away the wet trails left behind from your tears. Jensen only sits there, feeling completely helpless as he canât do anything to help you. All he can do is be there for you, hold you and let you know that heâs not going anywhere; and as that is a lot to you, it feels like nothing to him.
âYou want to try and eat something?â
âI donât know.â you croak, still wiping away the invisible tears from your face.
âI can make you some toast.â You slowly nod before finally pulling your hands away from your face. Your eyes are red and puffy and all he wants to do is kiss away your tears.
âOkay.â you agree to the food choice and Jensen slides off the bed, but then pauses before moving too far.
âYou want help out into the other room?â
âNo.â you wave him off and he knows heâs probably annoying you with the constant help. Itâs just that heâs almost afraid to leave you alone. âIâll be alright. Iâll be there in a minute.â
âOkay.â Even with your confidence, he hesitates. But eventually he steps out of the room, leaving the door open as he heads to the kitchen to pop a slice of bread in the toaster.
It isnât until after the bread pops up, nice and golden brown and heâs spreading a little peanut butter over one side that you slowly shuffle into the room, your hands gripping tight onto one of the barstools before you can successfully pull yourself up.
âI feel like I have the flu.â
âPretty close.â Sliding the napkin over to you, he watches as you eye the single piece of toast, and for the first time since youâve been there, you didnât seem to turn your head away in disgust or gag the second it came within inches of you.
âTry to take a bite or two when you can.â his fingertips tap the countertop before he moves around it and starts for the hall.
âWhere are you going?â you ask with a hint of panic in your voice, so Jensen stops in his movements and looks back at you.
âIâm just goin to the bathroom.â he can physically see you relax, and itâs then that he can smile a little bit. Maybe you didnât feel like he was suffocating you. Maybe you wanted him around you more than he thought.
Summary: Jensen gets a call in the middle of the night, alerting him about his friend being completely wasted. The thing is, this is not the first time heâs had to come to the rescue and honestly, heâs getting a little tired of doing it.

Jensen sat with his elbows on his knees, his hands clasped under his chin as he watched multiple doctors and nurses walk back and forth from the desk in front of them. His knee bounced uncontrollably and his fingers kept twitching as his eyes kept darting between employees.
They both walked into the ER within ten minutes of leaving Jensenâs apartment and Jared told them that an officer Monroe had called him, and it was like you were the talk of the place after that. They knew exactly why they were both there the second the officers name fell from his lips.
One of the nurses took them up a few floors to one that was a lot quieter than the ER and told them to take a seat. As she went up to the desk and relayed the message to the group behind the counter, they saw a few officers standing outside a door in the distance, making them both wonder if thatâs where you were.
âTheyâll have someone come talk to you in a minute.â Is all she said before disappearing back into the elevator. That was over twenty minutes ago.
âMr. Padalecki?â Like always, Jaredâs name was slightly butchered. Not as bad this time around though as an officer walked up to the pair, his hand outreached, so Jared took it. âOfficer Monroe. Um....â Jared glanced over, seeing that the officer was eyeing Jensen.
âHeâs family.â he instantly replied, knowing that whatever was going on, Jensen wouldnât want to leave and Jared wouldnât want to deal with it alone if he didnât need to. But of course, after saying that, it hit him that this isnât the show. Lying like that wasnât going to work like it does on T.V. But as the officer slowly nodded, the fear of them kicking Jensen out melted away.
âNow, Y/N told us that she doesnât have immediate family here, thatâs why she had us call you?â
âUh, yeah...â
âShe has a sister, but she lives in Sweden now.â Jensen answered before Jared could. âHer parents died a few years back.â The officer nodded again.
âOkay. Well, usually I wouldnât disclose this information to non family members, but considering her situation and the fact that she had me call you....â Monroe shrugged, a slight uneasiness in his eyes as if he were afraid to get in trouble for breaking his protocol, but he sighed and continued anyway.
âShe stumbled into the ER around eleven thirty and the nurses that took her in said that she seemed high on something.â
âExcuse me, high?â Jensen cut in, knowing you well enough to know that you havenât done a drug in your life. You tried cigarettes once as a kid, and that was the end of it.
âYes, sir. So, she admitted her and from there, Ms. Y/L/N proceeded to tell the nurse that her boyfriends friend is the one who gave her the drugs without consent, and once they kicked in, she believes that they proceeded in taking advantage of her.â Monroe slowed his statement near the end, knowing it wasnât something that they were going to want to hear. Who would?
Jensenâs face instantly fell. It went from curious and looking for answer to completely broken and looking like he was going to get sick. Jaredâs face had paled from the officers perspective, but neither man could comfort the other as they were both lost in their own sick world.
Jensenâs world was spinning like a terrible carnival ride. His vision was slightly hazy, his mind all jumbled up to the point where he wasnât sure if he could tell you his own name if you asked.
âNow, sheâs still in with the doctor, along with two other officers as they get her statement. But for now, thatâs all I know.â
Jensen doesnât know when the officer stepped away. He barely even knew where he was. He remembers feeling Jared pull him down into a seat after awhile, but that was it. Otherwise his mind was off somewhere else.
How could he do this? Here he was, having fun with his buddies while you were going through God knows what; and for what? Because he was tired of dealing with Randyâs shit? No! It shouldnât have mattered. He should have never let you go back. He should have stopped you. He should have called you instead of being stubborn and pushing his phone away. What the fuck was he thinking!?
His mind continued to beat away at the walls, tears making their way to the ducks in his eyes but not getting any further because he fought them off. But he couldnât stop his heart from feeling like it was being blended up into a smoothie.
After God knows how long, the door at the end of the hall finally opened, and a doctor along with another officer stepped out, officially pulling Jensen out of his abusive mind.
The officer follows the doc over to Monroe and they stand there and chat. A lot of nodding going on and what seems like a grim conversation. Jensen even attempts to try and read their lips, but canât get much out of them from being so far down the hall.
But after a few minutes, Monroe nods down in their direction, making them both sit a little straighter. Itâs when they start walking their way that they jump up from their seats, both of their hearts pounding like crazy in their chests.
âSo, officer Monroe filled you in on what was going on?â Both men nod, anxious to get to the rest of it already.
âOkay, well...â The doctor hesitates and glances at the officers for a moment before unleashing the news.
âWe believe Ms. Y/L/N was injected with a pretty high dose of heroin.â That alone made Jensen want to fall to his knees, but he just shifted his feet slightly, forcing them to keep him standing.
âFrom where the injection site was, and in my experience in seeing these types of things, it would be nearly impossible for her to do it herself.â Jensen nodded subconsciously, knowing you didnât do it yourself without having to hear it from them. But then he stared deep into the docs eyes, waiting for the second half of the story, but he seemed as if he wasnât going to say anything, and Jensen wasnât having it. Heâs heard this much.
âSo, did they.....â he couldnât say it. After clearing his throat, he would take another shot, but heâs sure that he couldnât say it. âDid they, um.....â Thankfully he got what Jensen was getting at, and after a moment, with the horribly grim expression he had on his face, he nodded, making Jensen huff out a loud puff of air, his body twisting to turn away from the men in uniform as his fist comes up over his mouth.
âI did find signs of trauma.â Even with Jensenâs back to him, the doc eyed him for another minute before glancing towards Jared and smiling sadly. âIâm really sorry.â The doctor stepped away then, but Monroe and the other officer stayed put.
âNow, she said that she lives with this boyfriend, so, is there another place for her to stay?â
âWith me.â Jensen jumped in without missing a beat, turning back to the men despite the fact that he felt like he couldnât breathe. âShe can stay with me.â Monroe nods and pulls out a little notebook.
âCan I get your name, number and address so I can stay in touch with her.â
âOf course.â
The hospital kept you for the rest of the night, but then released you the next morning. Jared and Jensen both stayed the entire time, nodding off once and awhile in the very uncomfortable chairs, but mostly stayed awake as they still tried to let the news of what happened to you settle in their minds.
One of the nurses came over about an hour before they released you and told Jensen what to look out for as your body went through the damn withdrawals because of the drugs and that if he had any questions to just call them up and ask. But otherwise, it would just take a little time.
Jared drove the two of you back to Jensenâs apartment, and the silence in the car was killing the two men. But the last thing they wanted to do was make you talk, so they sat there, focusing on the road in front of them.
Once there, Jared got out and helped you out of the car before pulling you in for a hug and telling you that he loves you, and that if you needed to, to text or call him anytime, he didnât care what time it was.
You seemed to glance in Jensen direction as the taller of the two pulled away, but then your eyes fell to the concrete right after. He wasnât sure why you wouldnât look at him. Maybe it was because of the way he acted the last time he saw you? But either way, he only hoped you werenât mad at him, cause he wanted you to stay. After what you had been through, maybe it was selfish of him, but he didnât want to let you out of his sight.
âSee you guys later.â Jensen gave his friend a little wave before carefully placing his hand along your back and helping you towards the building, and he was so grateful that you didnât flinch at his touch. He was terrified to touch you in any way, but it was also killing him not to comfort you.
After unlocking his door, he shoved it open and then walked in with you. The entire way up in the elevator he could feel your body trembling and it killed him. It was just one of the side effects of the drugs. Withdrawals. He hated that word because it made you sound like a full time addict, and you werenât.Â
âYou cold?â he asks as he goes to shut the door and feels the goosebumps along your arms.
âIâm okay.â Even your voice shook. He didnât know where you thought you were getting by lying to him, but he just shook his head and moved down the hall to his room while you slowly made your way over to the couch.
Jensen came back out with one of his sweaters and wrapped it around you before laying the blanket that was over the back of the couch, over your legs.
âThere we go. That should keep you warm.â he sighs as he looks you over and then lets his eyes roam up to meet yours. But yours are somewhere else, looking off into your lap by the looks of it, and he feels a tugging pain in his chest.
Slowly taking a knee, he positions himself right in front of the couch. Right in front of you, and he takes one of your hands in his and runs his thumbs along the back of your hand. Though he looks you in the eye, yours are still casting further down.
âI donât expect you to talk about it.â he starts with a calm, sincere voice. One that he hopes brings you comfort. âBut, I want you to know that I believe you. We all believe you, and theyâre not going to get away with what they did to you.â Your eyes slowly lift to his then and a soft smile slowly pulls at his lips.
âI thought that you were done coming to my rescue.â His smile grew a little more as he squeezed your hand.
âI was upset. I didnât mean it. I could never stop coming to your rescue.â
âAlright, youâre dealer, Iâll grab more drinks.â Jensen laughed as he got up from his dinning room table.Â
Jaredâs laughter calmed a little more as he eyed the other men at the table and then he glanced over at Jensen before getting up from his seat. He moved towards the kitchen island and rested his hands on the counter as he eyed his friend while he pulled more beers from the fridge.
âWhat?â Jensen chuckled when he noticed Jared staring as he set the group of bottles down and popped of the tops, one by one.
âHave you heard from Y/N?â Jensenâs smile fell and then he put his focus on the bottles in front of him.
âNope.â
âSo, what? You ignoring her?â
âNo!â he barked, before turning for his trash under the sink. âIâm not ignoring her. But I told her that I was done picking up that assholes mess.â Tossing the bottle caps in the trash, Jensen then went to grab the beers to walk them back into the other room to hand out to his guests. But Jared stopped him.
âSo, in other words, youâre done helping her.â
âDonât twist my words like that.â he warned, his eyes hard as he stared back at his friend.Â
âWell, thatâs what she thinks.â
âWhy do you say that?â
âBecause.â Jared straightens himself and pulls out his phone, pulling up a recent text. âIâm sure if she thought otherwise, I would have never gotten this text.â Sliding his phone across the counter, Jensen snatched it before it could slide off the other side.
Jar, I need your help. Would I be able to bribe you into letting me stay with you for awhile? Iâm leaving Randy in the morning but I have nowhere to stay. If itâs too much, no worries, Iâll figure something else out. Let me know. Love ya!Â
His heart was beating a little faster as he read that you were leaving that jackass, but you said that you would leave him once before and never did.
âIâm pretty sure that she would have asked you first.â Jensen locked his friends phone and slid it back over to him. âI can take her in, but...with Gen and the kids...â he shrugged, a helpless look in his eye. âItâs going to be crowded. I mean, I know that sheâll help out and all, but....I think sheâd be better off here.â
âNo.â Jensen said simply with a light shake of his head, and then he gripped the necks of the bottles and made another move to leave the kitchen, but Jaredâs hand snapped out and grabbed his arm, making him halt once again.
âSo, what, youâll just turn her away if she asks you?âÂ
âJared...â Jensen huffed quietly as he sat the beers back down, afraid that one might slip if he continues to stand there with them in his grasp. âIn the last six months, I havenât turned her away once. Not once. So donât go trying to make me feel guilty for this. She did this to herself.â Lifting the beers once again, Jensen glanced at Jaredâs phone before making a move for the other room.
âI hope that text is legit and I hope that she does leave him. But Iâm telling you right now, Iâm not going to hold my breath. Iâll believe it when I see it.â
âSheâs been texting me for awhile you know?â That of course made Jensen stop, again. He was done with the conversation, but clearly, Jared wasnât. âTelling me how much she wants to leave, but doesnât know how.â Jensen rolled his eyes at that, feeling the anger that he was so desperately trying to avoid start to boil up inside him.
âMaybe she just needs our help.â That was the final straw. Jensenâs face hardened even more, the tips of his ears turning red as he turned and slammed the bottles down on the counter, grabbing the attention of his guests in the other room.
âI did help!â Jared flinched back a bit at the outburst, but then he stood tall, his hands still resting on the counter as he watched his friend completely lose it in front of him.
âSo many times! Iâve given her a place to stay! Iâve taken her in and then she goes back! I take her in again, and she goes right back! Every time, she goes back! Iâm done!â his voice cracks at the end and Jared can see his eyes slowly getting a little more glossy.
âIâm done.â Jared continues to stare at him, his heart breaking for his friend because he knows that this has been weighing on him, he just didnât know it was this bad.
âSo...when sheâs free of him for good, then Iâll be there to help her. But until that day comes......Iâm done.â
The tension took some time to die down after that, but everyone seemed to loosen up a bit. Jensen still felt that pit in his stomach, but he tried to ignore it so he could enjoy the night with his friends, and it seemed Jared was the same way.
Knowing each other so well, both of them could easily tell that the blow up was still hovering over them, but they silently agreed to push passed it for the sake of each other and the night.
After a few more hours of playing poker and passing around fun life stories, the group finished off their final beers and headed for the door. Jensen walked them all out, saying goodbye to them and then shutting himself back in his apartment. He knew Jared was the last man standing and after shutting the door, he turned to see him in the kitchen, rinsing the plates from earlier in the evening.
âDonât worry about it, man, Iâll get it.â he waved him off as he shuffled his feet into the kitchen, coming up next to him as he finished off one of the plates.
But as Jensen went for the bottles on the table, Jared just continued in his task, rinsing each plate before setting them in the dishwasher. There was only about six plates, so it took no time at all.
âThanks.â Jensen muttered when he went to toss the empty beer bottles in the trash. Jared just gave him a nod while he dried his hands on the towel hanging from the bottom cabinet.
âI uh....Iâm sorry that I unleashed on you, man.â Jensen apologized, his head and voice low as the guilt had time to settle in over the last few hours.
âDonât worry about it. I know that youâre getting tired of cleaning up his mess, and I donât blame ya.â Jensenâs brow jumped as he let out a light scoff. âBut I really do think she wants to leave him.â
âThen she shouldnât have left.â Jensen voiced quietly, his eyes still locked on the tiles below his feet.
âNo. She shouldnât have.â Jared agreed, knowing that if you would have just stayed when Jensen took you in, whichever time, it didnât matter, you would have been free. He would have protected you and heâs told you that before. But it didnât seem to matter, cause every time, you walked right back out that door and back into that assholes arms. It was like a huge bitch slap to Jensen every time, and yet he still took you back in.
Why? Because he was hopelessly in love with you. So no matter how many times you crushed him like you did, he couldnât deny you of anything. Yeah, he could ignore your calls and texts, if you had sent any. But if you were to show up at his door, in tears over that jackass, heâd take you in his arms all over again. He knew he was screwed.
The sound of a loud vibration got the attention of both of them, making both sets of eyes jump to the dinning table where one cell phone rested. They both patted down their jeans, finding out pretty quickly that Jared was missing his while Jensenâs was still in his back pocket.
âWhat the hell is Gen calling me at one in the morning for?â Jensen became a little worried at that too, taking a few strides into the dinning room as Jared answered his wifeâs call.
âHey, honey, whatâs up?â Jensen watched as Jaredâs face shifted. It went from confused to extremely confused. âItâs okay, calm down. Did he say what happened?â he asked after several minutes, causing Jensen to be even more curious.
âNo, Iâll take care of it. You go back to sleep.â Jared snatched his keys from the table but remained in his spot as Gen continued to talk on the other line.
âOkay, well, at least try and rest. Iâll let you know when I find out something. Love you.â Jensenâs brow raised in question as his friend hung up. Jared took a minute to stare down at his phone before sliding it into his pants pocket, and then he finally looked up, looking uneasy which put Jensen on edge.
âGen said that Y/N checked herself into the hospital a couple hours ago.â
âChecked herself in?â
âYeah, thatâs what the officer told her.â
âOfficer?â Jared was so focused on trying to keep Gen calm on the phone, that as Jensen repeated everything back to him, the reality of the situation sunk in more.
Jensen was quick to rush over and snatch his keys from the hook by the front door, Jared right on his heels as they hurried out of the apartment. The thoughts of what waited for them at the hospital would just continue to haunt them until they got there, and they only hoped those thoughts were worst case scenario.
Jensen and Jared to the rescue! Thanks for reading!

The faint light lit up the room, but thatâs not what woke him up. It was the loud, obnoxious noise that did it.
Swinging his hand to the tabletop, Jensen smacked a few empty spaces before finally feeling his phone. He blinked wildly, trying to clear his vision to see two things.Â
What time it was, and who the hell was calling him.
First thing he saw was Jaredâs name across his screen and then he glanced up to see the tiny numbers at the top.
3:07 am
âUgh...â Clearing his throat, he rolled to his back, his head falling to the pillow once more as he rested the phone against his ear, his eyes closed.
âDude, itâs three in the morning.â
âYeah, I know. Iâm sorry.â Before he could bite his head off, Jared got right to the reason of why he was calling. âBut...Iâve tried to get her out of here, but she wonât leave with me.â
âWhat?â Jensen groaned, feeling more irritated by the second. âWho the hell are you talking about? And how does it have anything to do with me?â
âItâs Y/N.â Hearing your name, Jensenâs eyes fell open. âShe....sheâs been drinking all night, and she wonât leave with me. She keeps asking for you.â
The car cheeped when Jensen locked her up, his feet moving swiftly towards the bars entrance, and he whipped open the door with his mission in mind. Find the giant and thatâs where youâll find the girl.Â
Jensen scanned the place quickly, not a lot of people left since it was so late. Just employees and the last of the drunks that were either waiting for a ride or the cops.Â
Jared had you near the back where a few couches took residence, both of you sitting and minding your own business. From the entrance, you looked fine. It wasnât until he got closer that he could see what Jared was talking about.
âJensen! You came!â Jared patted your leg, telling you to sit tight before getting up and moving towards his friend.
âWhat the hellâs going on?â
âWhat do you think?â Jared questioned, his eyebrows raised as he knew Jensen would get it.
âJesus...â
âSheâs been here since seven thirty.â
âMy God...â Jensenâs hand went through his quickly brushed hair, looking back at you as you leaned against the arm of the couch, looking like you were going to pass out.
âI even tried to bribe her, telling her that I would drive her over to your place, but she wasnât having it.â
âThatâs alright. Iâve got her.â Jensen patted his buddy on the arm and moved towards the couch, smiling softly at you. âHey, beautiful.â Your drunk, sleepy gaze tried to focus on him for a moment before a smile slowly pulled at your mouth.
âHey, handsome.â
âYou ready to get out of here?â
âWhoa, whoa, whoa!â Jensen almost dropped his keys after popping his door open because you had lost your balance, making him reach out for you before you face planted on his doorstep. But you just continued to laugh as he pulled you in the apartment.
He kicked his door shut with his heel and dragged you over to his couch, helping you down before heading back to lock the door and secure the place for the remainder of the night.
âAnd then.....and then he said...told me that he shouldâve cheated on me. I mean...wh-who says that!?â Jensen rolled his eyes softly before coming back to get you from the couch. Heâs heard you say that same thing at least three times on the way home, and it wasnât that he was annoyed with you, he was annoyed with the asshole that said it.
âAlright, come on.â
âDo you agree with him?â you grunted as Jensen pulled you up to your feet. âDo you think you shouldâve cheated on me with her?â That was new though.
Pausing in his steps, he looked down at you wrapped in his arms, your eyes full of tears, your cheeks holding dried tear tracks from earlier. His heart ached for you, and he couldnât take it.
âNo, Y/N. Of course not.â Even drunk, you looked relieved. âNow, come on. Letâs get you to bed.â
Your eyes were barely open when you felt the sharp pain to your retinas and your temples and they just squeezed shut again. Though that didnât help one bit at taking away the pain. If anything, it only made it worse.
Groaning, you slowly rolled your body across the mattress, afraid that if you moved too fast it would cause the pain to escalate even more. But as you reached your arm across the mattress looking for the start of your nightstand, you grew confused at the feeling of just more sheets and an endless supply of mattress below you.
Even though you knew the pain was coming, to put your confusion to rest, you pried your eyes open, trying your best to focus on your surroundings.
This was not your room.
Even with the small slits you were able to see out of, you could see that this bed was twice as big as yours. The sheets were a light grey along with a large black and white comforter that laid across your legs.
The shades were drawn, but for how bright the sun was as it was trying to pierce through the curtains, you could tell that it was easily passed ten in the morning.
Continuing to slowly blink your eyes open, them getting a little wider every time, you finally propped yourself up and looked around the room. It didnât look familiar, but the few photos that were on the walls left little guessing room for you.
It took a little longer than you wanted it to, but you were finally able to pull yourself out of the comfortable bed and open the door to the rest of the apartment. Now this you recognized.
The hall was dark, no windows to let any light in at all. But even as you came up on the open space of the living room, dinning room and kitchen, it was darker than it should be for being day time.
The shades on all the windows were drawn, the heavy fabric doing a better job at keeping the sun out than the ones in the bedroom. The TV was even off, which would make anyone think that the place was vacated. But the slightest sound from the kitchen proved that to be false. That and the amazing smell of breakfast. But before you could turn and follow the smell, you saw that the couch had a blanket spread across it and a pillow resting at the far end, making guilt sink into your stomach.
âGood morning.â his voice was light, definitely quiet enough to not disturb the beast in your head.
You smiled at the green eyed man and made your way towards the island to take a seat on one of the bar stools.
You eyed the bottle of pain killers for a moment before there was a glass of water slid in front of you.
âYou may want to take a few before that gets any worse.â his large finger pointed towards your head before he turned and went back to the stove.
You did as you were told and popped a few pills in your mouth, chasing it with the water he gave you while you watched him pull the sizzling pan off the stove top.
Two plates sat off to his left, some eggs, toast and even a little fruit sat waiting for whatever he had in that pan of his, which you could tell by the smell what it was.
He walked over and separated the bacon evenly on to the plates and then sat the pan off to the side. Getting a good grip on the plates and moving them to the island, he sat one in front of you and the other directly across from you. Apparently Jensen was going to stand.
Turning back to the counter, he walked over and grabbed two mugs from a higher cupboard, filling them both with the coffee that was sitting and waiting patiently in the corner.
âHow you feeling?â he asks softly as he sets your mug in front of you and then takes a sip of his right away.
âLike shit.â your voice croaked as you let your head fell into your left hand. You eyed the delicious breakfast, but you were still trying to convince your stomach that it was a good idea.
âYeah, well....thatâs what happens when you drink for eight hours straight.â
âEight hours?â your head drop, but your wide eyes were still looking up at your tall friend.
âYeah. Jaredâs employees said you showed up around seven.â
âOh my God....â you groaned, now hiding your face in your palms. Jensen just stood there, slowly picking at his food as he watched you hide yourself from reality.
It isnât the first time heâs had to come and pick you up like that, but it has been long enough that he thought nights like that were over. But he should have known better. That jackass that youâre with is just that, a jackass. There was no way this was going to get better, and he just wished you would see that.
âIâm sorry that I made you sleep on the couch.â
âItâs alright. I knew you were going to wake up in pain, figured you needed the bed more than me.â
âNo, thatâs the exact reason you should have put me on the couch.â Jensen chuckled as he took a bite of his eggs and then pointed his fork towards your plate.
âYou should eat something. Itâll help.â
âMy stomach doesnât think so.â you groaned, letting your hand run across your stomach as it churned.
âWell, you can always go eat on the bathroom floor. That way if youâre right, youâre not far from where you need to be.â
âVery funny.â you picked a little piece of bread off your toast and threw it at him, making him dodge your attack and laugh while he finished chewing his own food.
âAlright.â Grabbing his plate, he set it in the sink and then snatched his coat from the stool next to you. âIâm off to work. Stay as long as you need. Eat when you can, drink lots of water.â he leaned over and kissed your temple. âAnd for the love of God, if you throw up somewhere, please clean it up.
âNo promises!â you yelled over your shoulder, hearing him grumble as he stepped out.
It was a late work day. They started late and ended even later. Jensen figured heâd be home around ten, eleven tops. But here he was dragging himself through his front door at two forty five. He loved his job, but a sixteen hour work day after the night he had, he felt like passing out right inside his front door.
But that would have to wait, because as he stepped in and hung his coat, he let his eyes wander into the kitchen to see you sitting on the same bar stool as this morning. But you werenât alone. Two bottles of wine sat on the counter next to you, a wine glass in your hand as you took a sip.Â
He glanced into the living room where he heard music coming from his speakers, some stupid angry love song playing, talking about how men sucked and that told him everything he needed to know.
Sighing heavily, he moved into the kitchen, eyeing you as he came around the counter, staring at his wine that you sucked down.
âHey! Welcome home!â you slurred as you raised the wine glass, it being slightly tipped since you had no sense of stability.
âY/N? What are you doing?â
âJust enjoying a nice glass of wine. Itâs good.â you made a weird face as you practically stuck it in your glass to look down at the liquid. âI liked the first one better though.â Sighing, Jensen grabbed for the empty bottle, turning it to look at the label and scoffing when he saw which one it was. It was one of his favorites too, and he was actually saving it for some sort of special occasion. Preferably one with you after you told him you finally left the dick you were drinking yourself into the grave over. Or maybe for his first date with you. But that seemed just like a distant dream anymore.
Turning for the sink, he dropped the bottle in there and then leaned his back against the counter, watching you down what was left in your glass.
âY/N? Why are you drinking again?â
âBecause itâs fun!â you giggled, but his glare on you made the playful tone leave the room.
âBrandon accused me of cheating on him since I didnât come home last night.â Shockingly, your sentences were making sense, but you were slurring every word beyond belief, showing just how drunk you were.
âHe called me earlier and yelled at me, called me a slut and told me to hit the streets and make some money if I was going to be sleeping around.â Biting his tongue, Jensenâs eyes rolled off to the side before his lids closed tight.
âI told him to fuck off, and then I found the wine!â you ended more cheery and then reached for the bottle still sitting next to you.
âOkay, I think thatâs enough wine for tonight.â he said quickly as he pushed himself off the counter and snatched the bottle from your lazy fingers.
âJensen...â you whined as you slid your glass across the counter towards him.
âNo. Youâve had enough.â Walking over to the sink, he dumped out the rest of it. It only being a sip or two left at most anyway, and then he tossed the bottle in with the other.
âIâm sorry I didnât save any for you.â He huffed as he stared down at the empty bottles, the anger in him boiling. But he held it down long enough to walk back over to you and take you to bed.
He couldnât sleep after that. He was too riled up after dealing with you that he just laid on the couch and stared at the ceiling. Only until about nine or so, and then he got up and started cleaning. Just, anything to keep him busy at the moment. It wasnât until about an hour later that he heard you emerge from the bedroom, your feet slowly padding their way down the hall.
âHey.â
âHi.â he replies with the anger still in his voice while he continues to wipe down his counter.
âI um....Iâm sorry I stayed for two nights. Iâm going to go home today, so...â Slamming his hand down on the counter made you practically jump off the stool, but your heart took over the fear as it continued to race.
âTo him?â
âJensen...â
âYou need to leave him, Y/N.â he growls as he finally turns to you. âHeâs no good for you! Youâre drinking yourself to death!â
âI just had a couple bad nights, I...â
âBad nights.â he scoffs as he runs his free hand down his face.
âEvery relationship has problems, Jensen.â
âOh my God!â Tossing the rag in the stainless steel sink, it hit with a thud. But the anger in his eyes is what scared you the most. âNot like this, Y/N! Normal relationships donât have these kinds of problems!â
âYeah, they do.â you tried to argue back, making him scoff and spin his body around. âPeople fight, and they drink and then they make up.â
âNot like this.â he growled back, trying so hard not to yell at you, but he knew that it was probably going to be inevitable here soon.
âJensen...â
âY/N, I had to come and pick you up at three thirty in the morning, drunk off your ass! And that wasnât the first time!â You sigh softly, letting your eyes drop to the granite counter top.
âI come home yesterday to you drinking all my wine! He called you a slut and told you to go start working the streets! No real man treats a woman like that!â
âHe was angry...â
âDonât!â Jensen warned you with a finger like a father would. It stopped him from throwing something at the moment. âAll he has ever done is use you, Y/N! Why canât you see that! Heâs using you for your money, for your fame, for sex! And God knows what else!â
âJensen, he loves me.â
âYouâre fucking kidding me, right!?â he let his hands fall to the counter, the thick granite keeping him up right.
âHe does. He just got mad and said some stupid shit...â
âYeah, I bet thatâs all he did.â he huffed and started pacing the small area, his head down and swaying at the moment.
âJensen, he didnât sleep with that girl.â
âIâm sure he fucking didnât.â The sarcasm was clear, not that you needed to hear it to know he wasnât serious.
âJensen....â
âNo! You know what? You want to go back to him, be my guest. But know this. I will not keep coming to your rescue! The next time Jared calls me in the middle of the night, Iâm going to tell him to leave you there. Or better yet! Iâll let him call the cops and have you sit in a cell for a few hours until you sober up.â That hit you, and he could see it. But it was the truth. He was done helping you, the woman he loved just so you can go back to that asshole.
âJensen, I....â
âNo. Iâm tired of picking up the pieces of what heâs broken! The first couple of times, sure, thatâs my job as your friend. But when you keep going back to it, thatâs on you!â his glare stayed locked on your hurt, watery eyes, but he wasnât backing down. It was quiet for a long time it seemed before your phone went off, and he didnât need to see the name to know who it was.
He scoffs and turns around, his back to you, and thatâs when you grab your phone, your eyes still on Jensen as you answer it.
âHello?â Jensenâs head hung low as he stared down into the sink where the wine bottles still laid.Â
âYeah, I uh...Iâm at Jensenâs.â His teeth ground together as he tried to hold in a scream. He just wanted to turn around and cuss the fucker out. Heâd be able to hear him, Jensen had no doubt about that.
âY-yeah, I can do that. Yeah, Iâll be home soon.â A light scoff came out of him as you said that. Even after him pouring his heart out, you still chose him. You see Jensen swaying his head back and forth as you say goodbye to Randy and hang up, and then you sit there for a minute.
âI uh....Iâm sorry about the wine. Iâll replace the bottles.â
âDonât worry about it.â he bites without turning around, but you stay silent for another minute again before whispering out a âkayâ
Jensen continues to stand there, facing his cabinets as he hears your feet shuffle slowly towards the door and then after a few minutes, he hears the light click when the door shuts.

Running your hands through your hair, you tried to ring out as much of the water as you could before stepping out of the shower and grabbing your towel. As you dried off though, something grabbed your attention on the other side of the door.
When you climbed in the shower, it was just you and your boyfriend, Randy who were in the house. But now you could hear other voices coming from down the hall.
Rolling your eyes, you went back to drying yourself off, but kicked yourself for not bringing in a change of clothes. He had been doing this recently, especially after the last time you left Jensenâs place. You would come home from work, get out of the shower or even wake up in the morning to find Randyâs stupid friends over.Â
All of them rubbed you the wrong way, but Randyâs best friend was the worst; and of course he was always over.
After tying the towel around yourself and holding it close to your body, you moved out of the room and down the hall to confirm what you were hearing just moments ago, and sure enough, there was dumb and dumber sitting on the couch.
âHey, Y/N.â
âHey, baby.â Shane was the first to greet you with a sickening smirk on his face. But after you looked from him to Randy, your eyes dropped to the coffee table where their attention was just moments ago, and your heart dropped.
âWhat is that?â you pointed at the off white looking powder, earning a laugh from Shane and even a chuckle from your boyfriend.
âJust a little bit of fun.â Shane answered, getting Randy to laugh a little harder as he turned to his friend.
You glared at them both for a moment before letting your eyes drop down to the needles and spoons sitting next to the powder. Jensen was right. What the fuck were you doing with this guy? The alcohol seemed to pull you in, made you feel more loose and free, but clearly, it also clouded your judgement way too much. You were with an addict and slowly but surely, he was dragging you down with him.
The drinking was one thing, but now drugs? You couldnât be around this. This would ruin you on so many levels. You needed to get out.
âIâm going to bed.â
âOh, come on, baby! You donât want to join us?â Randy called from the couch as you went to head back down the hall, but then you turned halfway, looking him in the eye as you shook your head.
âNo.â
Thankfully they left you alone after that. You shut yourself in the bedroom and tossed on an extra large shirt to sleep in and climbed in bed.
The light from your phone blinded you as you laid there and stared up at the screen, but you werenât exactly tired enough to sleep at the moment. But this beat sitting out there with the guys.
You definitely needed out, and tomorrow you would do it. Randy would sleep in late, so it would give you time to get up and pack your things. But the question was, where would you go?
Jensen would be your first option, but after you had pissed him off a few weeks back, you didnât think heâd want to hear from you.Â
But, he did want you to leave Randy. Maybe since thatâs what you were doing, heâd take you in? But what if he didnât? You werenât sure if you could handle him turning you away. Even though this was all your fault to begin with. You did this to yourself. You just hoped that after getting out, youâd be able to call him up or even just go over to his place and beg for forgiveness.
But until then, you still had to figure out who could take you in for awhile. There was only one other person that came to mind, and if he didnât take you in, a hotel would just have to do until you found your own place.
After shooting a text to your other saving grace, you locked your phone and rolled over in bed, leaving the sheets bunched up by your feet cause it was a very muggy summer night, and the last thing you needed was covers.
You had to have been asleep for while, cause you were in a very deep sleep. You almost felt paralyzed as you pried your eyes open when you felt the bed dip in.
âRandy?â your sleepy voice drifted up to the body above you and after a moment, you could see your boyfriend smiling down at you.
You groaned a little as you tried to roll away from him, cause you had a feeling you knew what that smile implied and the last thing you wanted right now was sex. You just wanted to go back into your heavy dream state. But his large hands stopped you from moving away from him, causing you to groan again.
âNo...Randy, I donât want to...â
âShh. Itâs okay, baby.â his right hand went up along your face, pushing your disheveled hair from your eyes. âEverythingâs going to be okay.â
âWhat are you...â you were cut off. Before you could ask what the hell he was talking about, there was a prick in your left arm, making your eyes jumped from Randy as you searched for the source of the pain. Thatâs when you wanted to scream out, but Randy threw his large, sweaty hand over your mouth, stopping you from doing so.
You cried into his palm and flailed under his body as you watched Shane push on the syringe in his hand, sending whatever drug they had inside, into your body.
You have never done a drug in your life, so you had no idea what this was going to do to you. You didnât know what to expect let alone how to handle it.
You continued to squirm under him until Shane was done doing his dirty deed, and then it was practically instant.
Before Randy got off of you, your body felt like it went completely dead weight on you. It was only seconds after Shane pulled that needle from your arm that you felt so different. You quickly became confused, as if you didnât know what was going on before they came in, but you did. Even worse, you felt a lot more tired than you did before, but you didnât want to sleep. Who knew if you would even wake up. You needed to get help. You needed to get out of this house and get somewhere safe.
As you forced your arms against the mattress, praying that it was enough to lift you from the bed, you felt a wave of nausea run through you, but you fought through it. You just wanted out.
âNo..â you whined when you felt Randy grab at your shoulders. âNo.â
âItâs okay, baby.â
âNo.â you didnât like this. You hated this. It was like you had zero control over your body. You couldnât fight back, you could barely even speak. But of course, your tears were working fine. âNo.â
âItâll be okay. Just let it soak in. Donât fight it.â he whispered in your ear and then kissed your neck. But as you turned away from him, looking for anything to help you out of bed, there was one thing that you completely forgot about.
Shane.
âNo.â Shane smirked as he climbed into bed next to you, and you couldnât do anything. âNo. Please...â
âShhh.â Randy whispered in your ear again, making your nausea spike to an all time high. âLet us make you feel good.â
