“We are on a mission today!” Goshiki announces.

“A mission?” Hinata stops in his tracks and looks up at Goshiki, cocking his head to the side in curiosity.

“A mission,” Goshiki confirms. “My senpai found out that you’re coming today and we’re now on a mission to avoid them because if not they’re totally going to annoy us and I want to spend time with you alo—I mean, I don’t want to— I just— I don’t want them to annoy us.”

Or: the one where Goshiki just wants to watch a movie with his maybe-hopefully-soon-to-be-boyfriend. Too bad his senpai have other plans.

    Hinata tugged onGoshiki’s hand and Goshiki was startled slightly, looked down at Hinata who hada cheesy grin then Goshiki understood despite being initially confused. Theirhands interlocked together. A tad awkwardly as they had never held handsbefore. In fact, this was their first date.

Hinata holds out the box of condoms, his face contorted in confusion.  “What are these? I mean, I know what they are but…?”

“I bought them a week ago,” Goshiki explains in a hurry, a blush spreading from his ears to his chest as he desperately wishes some kind of hole would open in the floor and swallow him whole. “Because I thought you might want to and because I didn’t know yet—”

“Knew what?” Hinata interrupts.

“That I’m ace.” Goshiki winces. It’s the first time he’s said it aloud and the word feels flimsy and strange, yet also right as it settles on his tongue.

Hinata lets out an exasperated breath. “You’ve been Shiratorizawa’s ace for a year now. What does that have to do with this?” 

“No, ace as in…asexual.” At the confusion written across Hinata’s face, Goshiki clarifies, “Reon explained it as someone who doesn’t experience sexual attraction.”

“We’re just gonna be…watching movies?” Goshiki answers, his brow furrowing.

"Sure, sure." To his bafflement, Akakura winks. “Have fun watching ‘movies,' then!"

What else would we be doing? Goshiki wants to demand - but it’s exactly that moment when realization sets in.

Someone with messy orange hair, tufts sticking out haphazardly beneath their beanie. Someone so short, Goshiki initially panics that he’s been upstaged by a middle-schooler. Someone whose eyes flutter shut, cheeks hallowing as they jab their fingers down on the valves of their trumpet. Someone whose lips curve into a smile around their mouthpiece and knees jump in time with the upbeat music they’re playing.

Someone who’s assaulting poor, unsuspecting passerbies with the offensive noise known as jazz.
