I MADE A NEW AU!!!
i don’t really know where it’s gonna go but i’m here for the hot creatures yaoi and the horrors
originated from my gravity falls rewatch (+lust) which gave the new crackship tricksterface aka mr what’s-his-face x the summerween trickster
also i mostly did comedy so far bc it’s comics/doodles but i’ll probably explore the horror side too because…. that’s what i do😼😼
What is a hide behind, and why didn't anyone tell me how cute they are?
The Hide Behind Aka. The Lurker
This is a type of cryptid that comes from none other than, American Folklore. It is a supernatural being said to prey on any humans who enter their domain, that being the forests of, North America, and the people they prey upon are hikers, campers, hunters, and anyone who enters what they've claimed to be their territory. The Hidebehind is described as being an abnormally large, tall, claw baring, and shaggy hided individual. They're even mentioned to be incredibly powerful beings, given their stature I would assume the same thing.
Now this cryptid, isn't what I'd call a 'Sweetheart', they lurk in the shadows and in the coverage their forested domains offer them, and they do that to hunt. They hunt people. Like their name suggests, the Hidebehind is known for being able to conceal itself to the point that once you notice it, it's entirely too late for you to do anything to stop it from coming and tearing you apart with its long nails that creep through their dark shaggy fur.
It'll use its ability to conceal itself to near perfection to strike and drag their prey back to their lair to be eaten. They're also suggested to be nocturnal beasts, they'll hit your camp at night, when the campfire is all that's left to keep your surroundings seen. They'll move through the shadows and past your peripheral like they were never even there, and that's when they'll get you. From behind, or once you've spotted it. But you can defend yourself against them, they have a serious hate for alcohol. Why? I don't know myself. But it hates it so much that most of their victims happen to be intoxicated. That's how completely adverse they are towards it.
This towering sheepdog-like creature is often blamed for early-colonial lodgers' deaths, and that blame has often been showcased in the media, through novels, film, and video games. They were featured in Pecos Bill Catches a Hidebehind, Young Wizards, The Desrick on Yandro, Gravity Falls, and many more. Now, this isn't fact or mentioned anywhere else to my knowledge. But I feel it may be possible that there is correlation between the Hidebehind and Bigfoot. Shaggy tall figures, lurking in the forests of North America, missing people. Could be a plausible theory.
Now, to protect yourself from the Hidebehind, if it ever comes down to that, if you ever have enough time to. A firearm to kill and alcohol to ward it. Hell, I even hypothesize that a homemade Molotov will do. Liquor, fire, on fur? Yeah, that's your best bet. They'd make a hell of a torch. But I don't believe this creature is even inherently evil. It's always mentioned that they attack people who come into their territory. That they kill hikers, lodgers, loggers, campers, drunks. I'm certain these people stumbled into their territory inadvertently and that's what led to attacks. Hidebehinds like many other animals don't leave markers for what's theirs. And so, they're simply territorial and defensive over their space, and that leads to accidents.
Stay safe out there slayer, the cryptids are watching.. ;)

okay real quick!
I’m planning to jump start a chapter story involving Stanford Pines x Female!Reader, but I do have something right now in my drafts to potentially set out soon!
I’m only curious is how people prefer reading “x readers”. Currently I’m writing the one shot in first point of view and probably stick with that for the rest of it, but I wanna hear it from you guys for the actual chapter story!
First POV or Second POV
First, duh.
Second, ofc.
I’m really excited for what I have planned!
