Is this a safe space to say that I prefer RagaPom over Funnybunny? Like, yeah, I get the appeal and whatnot and I myself ship it (yk, since I’m a multishipper)— but Ragatha is just genuinely sweeter to Pomni and is willing to accept her love and friendship. Watching Pomni and Jax going back and forth, with him opening up slightly then getting scared and closing himself off is just getting a bit tiring, honestly. It’s tiring, not in a character writing kind of way, but more in a personal kind of way because I know how it feels to be someone like Pomni in the relationship and keep pushing for someone to open up and at the same time, I also know how it feels to be the Jax in the relationship. Honestly, I love how Jax is written. Like dont get me wrong, second to Caine, I’d say Jax is a character I relate to a lot. Especially with how he closes himself up as a means of protection for when they abstract. Because of this, I don’t think what he needs from Pomni is necessarily romantic. Like, yes, maybe he has a small crush on her, but with how he is right now, I don’t think them dating will solve any of his problems. People usually chalk up Funnybunny as just “Pomni fixes Jax”, but they usually forget that Pomni has her own shit too. She just usually likes helping people because of her empathetic nature, but getting in a romantic relationship won’t benefit Jax no matter how much Pomni tries to help. Jax needs to solve his shit by himself. Yeah, his friends can help him find the solution, but they WONT provide it for him.

However, I also feel like RagaPom is also pretty one sided. Ragatha (tho not confirmed in canon, this is just how I see it), may have a crush on Pomni but Pomni is more interested in her as a friend. Maybe this is because she’s still hung up on Gummigoo (yes, I’m also a FunnyGummi shipper, life is hard as a multishipper istg) or maybe because she also found solace in Jax that she can’t necessarily find in Ragatha.

Basically, if I were to rank my three Pomni ships, it’d definitely be—

1) FunnyGummi

2) RagaPom

3) Funnybunny

So essentially, Pomni loves Gummigoo, and I’m pretty sure if he survived this feeling could’ve been reciprocated (but Caine just had to be an asshole). Pomni’s feelings for Gummigoo may have started when they both trauma bonded over not understanding their circumstances. That was, afterall, probably the first instance of genuine comfort and connection that Pomni felt in the circus. After he died, Pomni later on found solace in Jax— and despite him being an overall asshole, never really babied her, which is one of her pet peeves. At the same time, her bonding with Jax helped her truly see the digital world as something other than a prison— he showed her how it can be a place where she can reinvent herself. This could be the reason as to why Pomni developed some sort of crush towards Jax. And yknow, Jax is drawn to her because she reminds him of Ribbit (who he also used to have feelings for).

Ragatha likes Pomni, on the other, because she saw how Pomni is GENUINELY kind and she isn’t the way she is because she’s a people pleaser unlike Ragatha herself. But then again, Pomni didn’t connect to Ragatha as much as she did to Jax because Pomni just wasn’t that into Ragatha’s overly sanitised and filtered people-pleasing probably because she felt infantilised.

Anyways, this is all just my headcanon, everyone is free to disagree. I just really adore how well written Pomni’s character is written, especially in terms of her relationships with others. It’s a shame people keep trashing on Pomni for being “male-centred” for trying to be there for Jax— aka her fucking friend.

But yknow, RagaPom definitely has more yearning vibes than Funnybunny. Especially on Ragatha’s end.
