#hestia.

hestia is not nearly as docile as some would lead you to believe. she abstains from conflict where she can, but she is not afraid to tell it how it is and will become exceptionally fierce when someone she cares about is threatened. hestia is kind, and she is peaceful, and she is doting, but pissing her off is a bad idea. she's gotten her hands dirty before and she'll do it again and she can be mean when she's angry.

part of the reason she has remained unmarried is because she refuses to be torn away from the family she has already. as a wife, the expectation would be to put her children and husband first, and hestia refuses to be torn in any way. her position now allows her to be there for all those she loves without restriction. that, and she's ace as fuck.

hestia's selflessness can be extreme, and she often puts others needs before her own (heelloooo, eldest daughter), though this can become quite conditional. she really only gives of herself to those who matter to her, and she will ice out those who make her feel unappreciated.

her hearth is always lit and any are welcome to sit by it. the flames always seem to be the exact temperature you need.

speaking of fire, girlie is a menace with flames. most of the time, her fires are tame and gentle, but they can quickly become unruly. i'm talking, melting coeus' face off during the titanomachy levels of dangerous.

she has a bit of a rebellious streak that started early on during the war and has only continued to grow - albeit, she's far more subtle about it now. good luck trying to tell her what to do, though.

she's very unassuming, physically. aside from her red hair (which is a little bit more of a reddy brown, than anything else), her features are plain, her age is almost impossible to discern (is she 30? 40? 60? who knows!), and she dresses very plainly and modestly, most skin covered. her entire look is designed to be approachable, i think, and she feels comforting in the way that you've seen a thousand women like her. she is your mom, she's your friend, your cousin.

APOLLO: apollo and hestia … i bet you didn’t see this coming, right ? yeah, hestia didn’t either. when apollo tried to pursue the other, they went running the other way. in fact, the situation went so poorly that apollo made hestia rethink the whole idea of relationships. now, whenever one sees the other around, not much else is exchanged other than an awkward smile and a nod of acknowledgement. POSEIDON: with poseidon initially being indifferent to hestia, it’s a bit of a surprise that the former has actually grown to appreciate the latter. their consistently warm and caring nature proves to be refreshing to poseidon, making them feel like they can really let their walls down around them. hestia on the other hand, always appreciates a new friend, but they find poseidon’s quiet and composed nature especially comforting. HEPHAESTUS: natually, hestia’s amiable nature leads them to the tendency of having positive relationships with most people. however, with hephaestus, it’s different. the both of them just have this certain warmth to their personalities, and while hestia’s a bit more outgoing than hephaestus, it’s like they’re two sides of the same coin — they just feel totally comfortable around each other.
