Galian Beast:

I’ve drawn this one a few times already, but I’ve never actually colored him. The color scheme, as well as the stance he’s in, were largely based on the OG game’s design. Speaking of, I essentially blended aspects from several of his iterations (concept art, OG game, DoC, EC) and added some things I thought would look cool. The two pairs of horns came from me not being able where I should put them, and I think it worked out. Now for some lore ideas…

In my interpretation, Galian is a sort of chimaera. Essentially, Hojo mixed the blood of a bunch of different monsters together, spliced them and made a bunch of tweaks, and injected the resulting genetic soup into Vincent.

The most “dominant” genes are from a behemoth, which Galian heavily resembles. This is also why it is able to use Flare attacks.

What else is in said genetic monster amalgamation isn’t completely known, but it also contains DNA of multiple types of dragons, harpies, gryphons, lupines, and trace amounts of spiral genes. The rest of its genome has yet to be determined.

He may have been something of a blueprint for the Beast-Type Soldiers in Deepground.

Surprisingly, Galian is the second most sapient or sentient of Vincent’s transformations. The most sapient, of course, is Chaos.

Galian beast is warm to the touch.

When calm (usually when Vincent is more in control), Galian Beast is willing to let people it trusts near it, and will even allow affectionate contact like pets and scritches. It seems to enjoy this.

I may or may not have written a smut fic involving Vincent in this form.

Death Gigas: My main want for this design was to make something that looks like an enemy from a Resident Evil game. With that in mind, I took inspiration from the Tyrants and Nemesis, and generally tried for a Frankenstein’s monster type look since it is pretty much just a bunch of corpses stitched together. Gross.

The creation of this particular form was especially gross. Hojo took DNA samples from the corpses of people who were used as the control group of the Jenova Project (didn’t get any cells) that didn’t survive the experiments (there were a lot of those). After a bit over a year, he put them into one container, and used the resulting mixture to make this particular monster.

The iron rods driven into its body are meant to help channel the electricity from its movements into its attacks.

This form has two hearts, with the second being visible on the right side of its chest.

My headcanon for why Gigas (and Hellmasker) weren’t in DoC is because Vincent had the organs that come from them removed.

Hellmasker: I took parts from various horror villains (Jason, Freddy, Bubba) for this one. And as mentioned earlier, I also took inspiration from the awesome renditions of this form by PankoBreadcrumb and SpineJackel, whose forms led me to add the many, many teeth and the cool jacket, respectively.

In contrast to the rather disgusting creation of Death Gigas, this transformation just required a partial liver transplant from a convicted murderer.

Beneath the smock and bandages, there are more mouths.
