The Fentons are Witch Hunters owning a weapon shop. Jazz is closing up the shop alone one night when Joker shows up and uses Jazz as the first test subject for a new strand of Joker gas. Jazz starts rapidly aging, and the Joker leaves to spread more mayhem somewhere else.
The next morning, Jazz decides to leave before anyone else wakes up. Her parents will either think she's some witch that replaced their daughter and burn her at the stake or worse, try to cure her.
Waitttt, I love this idea. The idea that the Fentons are demon hunters is so smart!
However! I think the Witch of the Waste should be Bruce :3 since all characters within Howl's Moving Castle are meant to be somewhat redeemable, I think it would make sense that Bruce is the Witch of the Waste, who's obsessed over Howl's (Jason's) young heart and curses Jazz after seeing her with him due to his overprotectiveness. Jason is probably running away from him bc he's so overbearing and crazy as a parent lmao.
I think Cass being Turnip Head is super cute!! Since she's silent and selfless, she would definitely help Jazz after Jazz helps her.
Calcifer... could be Dick? Something about him being a star and falling, and both he and Jason have a deal with each other where they exchange power and life, something something...
Now I'm imagining the reason that they're all together is bc they're all running away from Bruce's crazy overprotective tendencies where he tends to curse his children into things to "keep them safe", and by the end of the story, Jazz is able to resolve their conflict (and Bruce realizes that what he's doing to protect his family is wrong) and also save the kingdom :DD
