Realising this means you have to go back and rewrite the entire third act of your novel: un-yeah…
If we’re doing art wrap ups I suppose I should also do a writing wrap up. The biggest achievement being, of course, actually finishing my novel. I am mid way through editing it again, which is a lot of fun.
For November I did a 30k in 30 days challenge and as always went kind of haywire working on too many things, but I did complete it, and I wrote a short story I’m very proud of. [was posted on a03 but since deleted]
It’s been a very busy year for me outside of writing so I’m glad to have been able to accomplish some things that I’m really proud of. As well as doing a whole heap of reading. 27 books and counting!
Editing your novel is less about fixing any of the writing and more about sitting alone in your house arguing with yourself of several months ago who made a note you no longer agree with

Finishing writing a novel really gives you the book equivalent experience of a puppy becoming an adult. Like, damn, it was so easy to do that. Why am I having a hard time writing a short story?
