Live Known. Even when it hurts.
It’s interesting how often we as human feel like no one really knows who we are. I know that I’ve felt like this. If I was being totally honest,I would have to admit that I feel like this almost everyday.
The more that I think about what makes up a person, the more that I realize that a person is their decisions. While, I don’t think that decisions are the one and only thing that makes a person, I believe it is one of the largest components. Moving forward with this thought I have come to terms with the idea that a decision is just an action or lack of action that a person makes based on their experiences, thoughts, beliefs, etc.
If we are constantly being forced to make decisions based on our experiences, thoughts, beliefs, etc. then how can we expect anyone (except God) to really know us. Doesn’t our experiences and thoughts change daily? Do you have the same securities and insecurities everyday? Perhaps our morals and beliefs don’t change but decisions aren’t made on those things alone. I mean sometimes we even surprise ourselves with the decisions we make.
My point is that maybe it’s okay to be not known. The people that know the most about you are always gonna be the people that know the most about you and you can count on God to know the rest. When life feels hard because no one gets you. Rest in the safety of God knowing everything about you. Even the little things about you that you yourself forgets about. Even the things you don’t know about yourself yet.
[Jeremiah 1:5]- “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you….”
