The more she was around Serena, the more her heart wanted to crush on her. She was polite, sweet and made the best cakes out of anyone in Erdrea.
Why Jade hadn’t asked her out yet was beyond her.
No, wait. The reason was because of possible rejection.
So after dragging a drunk, sleepy Serena back to the inn and back to their room, Jade sat Serena down on her bed while she went to see if she could get a cup of water from the bathroom.
“Jadeee?” Serena slurred.
“Yes?” Jade responded, coming back with the cup of water.
“Why am I so sleepy?”
“You drank a little too much again,” Jade calmly told her.
“Did I?”
“Yes, you did.”
“Oh.”
She sat there a moment and Jade decided to sit now next to her. Serena decided to immediately lay her head on her shoulder, making Jade internally panic for a moment.
“Mmmmm, warm…”
Be still, beating heart.
“Jadeee?”
“Y-yeah?”
“Telllll me a secret?”
Jade took a moment to ponder this through after freaking out some more. Was it worth it to tell? Would she remember it in the morning? What would the conversation be then?
“W-What kind of secret?”
“Welllllll, do you like me?”
The moment of truth.
“Ye-Yes…”
Serena gasped and her eyes lit up, “You dooooo?”
“Yes, I do,” Jade replied, her face a little redder.
“Wowwww… You wanna hear a secret?”
“Sure?”
“I-I like you toooo.”
Jade would have to be Zing’ed back to life after that.
