Mongolian Ground Beef Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful dish with savory and slightly sweet notes. It's perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 cup soy sauce. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup water. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ginger, grated. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced. 2 green onions, chopped. 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Cooked rice, for serving.
Instructions: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a spoon. Remove excess fat from the skillet if needed. Add sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to combine. In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in chopped green onions. Serve the Mongolian Ground Beef Stir Fry over cooked rice. Enjoy!
