Anna fell back into the seat next to James’ bed, no longer listening to anything the doctor was saying as she looked over at him, leaving Tessa to pay attention. She resisted the urge to brush the few tufts of hair that were poking out from his bandages away from his swollen eyes, feeling like she done enough damage today. 

“Woolsey!” Max looked at the president with a friendly smile. “How goes it?”

The quiet utterance made him stir. Quickly rousing from his sleep, the nymph smiled up at Gideon, a playful laugh bubbling from his lips. “Nice ring. It seems you quite the adventure last night ....” Aster trailed off as he finally caught sight of his finger and the metal band it bore; a ring that so-perfectly matched Gideon’s. “----” His smile faded, his playful tone becoming hard. “We didn’t. We couldn’t. Surely not. Tell me that this---” He gestured to his own ring. “Is a prank.”

“What’s this? Are you okay? Is something…” He just trailed off after a moment, instead returning the gesture by wrapping him arms around Stiles in a gentle hug. After a moment, he pulled back enough to raise a brow at the other male. “Seriously, is something up?”

Anna can’t help but gasp as she walks past the living room where she left James, her eyes meeting his. In a moment she is sitting by his side at the edge of the couch, taking his hand in hers.
