I’m not overly bothered as there are non-binary people who use she/her pronouns plus CC is right in that the conversation about they/them and zie/zir is very new and definitely unheard of in the Victorian Era, but I’m thinking my modern verse Anna, will be experimenting with pronouns and thinking of using they/them.

Christopher couldn’t remember all the details of the stories Gabriel and Gideon had told, but he was certain they shared his awkwardness.

Christopher stared at the failed invention for a long moment. It had opened a portal to who knows where and he wasn’t tempted to find out. One of his friends, however, had volunteered. It really was that bad of a decision to let him go.

He tore his gaze away from it, looking back to his sister. “Do you have any ideas?”

Anna looked down at the invention, still trying to wrap her head around the idea that her brother had been able to create a portal, and if someone hadn’t just disappeared through it she’d be focussed on how a portal machine would be great for Shadowhunters.

“Well, my first thought is that we go in after him but if the portal closes there’s a chance we’d be stranded and considering we have no idea what’s on the other side, I doubt either of us want that. Maybe a warlock could help us.”
