My department at work was supposed to be working from home as of today, but there was a delay in the delivery of the equipment so we start work from home tomorrow. Unfortunately it was decided that with our department leaving they were shutting the cafe down starting today — the first day we were supposed to be out by — and they couldn’t tell all the cafeteria workers “just kidding one more day” so last minute. So instead our team leaders brought in free pizza for all of us. 😄
#i just wanted to bring in some positivity about my work place after complaining on Friday#oh and i think i forgot to mention they decided to roll back on the call center thing for now#they might implement it in the future but only if demand gets high enough#the communication on all this hasnt been great and theres been a lot of back and forth but i do think theyre trying#my team leader sent out an email the other day to check in with us specifically in terms of how we were feeling#and to remind us of our employee wellness benefits including counseling services#actually i was poking around the page now and it turns out some other benefits we have include:#integrated health managment for people with chronic illnesses#hearing aid coverage#applied behavioral analysis for autism#infertility treatments#paid parental and disability leave#tuition and adoption assistance#and legal resources#thats a lot of good stuff#(and thats aside from all our regular health/dental/vision resources)#this turned into a long tangent#but yeah usually and generally a good place to work#work stuff
