Vox had gone to sleep in a bad mood. Also at two in the morning. He hadn’t expected to wake up at six, right before his alarm, to the smell of breakfast.

Except Val couldn’t hate him. As angry as Vox had made him, Val couldn’t hate him. And part of that made him angrier. It would be so much easier if Val could hate him. Hate him like Vox appeared to hate him.
