So the Apple does some real fucky wucky stuff in that Desmond isn't the only one stuck in the game like the team assumes

Nay, every love interest's soul too is locked within this game, all of them have the game description as well as notes of their own roles, and it seems simple, they're stuck in a game with two-dimensional characters

the conditions of escape are only half dependent on them

Desmond achieves 30% approval from them (something they can't fool the game on) and since this Desmond isn't real either, but they also need him to escape, and cannot fool the game, they simply accept the game as it is

Until they notice ... discrepencies in one another and realize, wait ... who said I was the only one stuck in here??

And Rebecca is like "I did NAWT program that! 💀💀💀" but everybody is watching eachother to make the first move while they figure out who is an isn't a person

for drama we could extend the game itself, either pre or post picking an escort so there's more time to investigate and confront others, plus the fact time isn't linear in this game and will timeskip itself could make for miscommunication or whatnot

Alternate Alternate Universe, instead of being isekaied into the game, they instead reincarnate in post-mortem into a legit fantasy world

Maybe it's instant, or some time after birth they remember everything, or a mix of both, but they have memories of their first and new lives and are like "alright lets use my first life to my advantage for my second one"

Not knowing there are other reincarnators running around, plot ensues

The otome AU oneshot that I’m planning to write a sequel soon-ish (if Eagle of Alamut cooperated with me XD): Badump Animus Destiny

So, for this one, Desmond transmigrated to what he assumed was Rebecca’s otome game but turned out to be an actual fantasy world that the Animus had ‘tuned into’ to create Rebecca’s story.

The others though have already went through this game once.

To be more exact, all of them remembers their first life where Desmond got a bad ending and died in front of them.

When they woke up, they remember their first life AND also their lives as an Assassin.

So, in this case, Desmond is just continuing what he assumes is Rebecca’s game while the others have actually regressed and have different plans to get their happy endings.

All of them don’t realize that there are other regressors and a trasmigrator because they believed that the changes made by the others are butterfly effects in motion.

Desmond thinks this ‘game’ is making him have otome worthy moments with everyone because that’s the genre of the game.

The truth is that all regressors are in love with Desmond and all those moments happen because they want to be with him.

This will also put a lot of angst in place when Desmond learns that all of them are carrying a torch for another Desmond and he would think he was meant to be a replacement in their eyes.

The easy way out of this is that Desmond is actually a regressor too. Unfortunately, he regressed after his death in the first timeline and that’s why he doesn’t remember that he was the Desmond that everyone lost. It’s actually more accurate to say that when time rewinded, Desmond’s memories rewinded as well.

So @fanworldbuildingfun and I did have a HayDes idea that we posted in the comments of one of my fics but I cannot remember where XD

I do remember the broad strokes of what we talked about though and it went something like this:

Desmond is transported into the past before Ratonhnhaké:ton is born. To be more exact, Kaniehtí:io is like about to give birth or just gave birth.

Desmond got this idea that the best way to give Ratonhnhaké:ton the best kind of life is to tell Haytham about him.

This backed fire on him because he’s now stuck as the middle man of a it’s complicated it’s not a divorce since they never married but they have feelings for each other but this entire thing is fucking that up between Haytham and Kaniehtí:io.

Desmond starts becoming Haytham Kenway’s ‘plus one’ who acts as both his conscience and also the peanut gallery. I think he also inadvertently helped Shay patch things up with the Assassins or something? Main point is that Desmond is not a Templar and has no plans to be a Templar and he’s really there to fuck Templar shit up and Haytham doesn’t kill him for it for some reason.

By the end of the entire thing (or like middle of the plot), Desmond has become Haytham’s sugar baby sub (I can’t remember if we ever thought about how he would become that XD), Ratonhnhaké:ton’s third parent (stepmom) and he spoils him every chance he gets, Kaniehtí:io’s best friend who uses her BFF privileges to make Haytham’s life more annoying than it has to be and accidentally created a truce between the Assassin and Templars.

Either as a joke or even a slip of the tongue, but to both their embarrassment, Haytham actually likes it.

Later, Connor is confused about why Desmond looks like he wants to die, and Haytham is trying to weigh the pros and cons of actually acquiring his son's friend as a sugar baby.

“Do you think Connor would be alright if I were to court his best friend?”

Jenny stared at her disaster of a younger (half-)brother.

Considering how old Haytham was already, Jenny was pretty sure this could be counted as his… ‘midlife crisis’.

Why he was suddenly fantasizing about becoming a sugar daddy to his son’s best friend though…

The Kenways had always lived for the drama.

Their father’s life was full of it and Jenny herself had been a big drama queen when she left the Kenway mansion after a fight with their father that she still refuses to apologize for.

Hell, everyone close to the Kenways were still wary of talking about Tessa after the messy divorce their parents had.

So really…

Haytham deciding to start another drama by seducing his son’s best friend?

Not that surprising, all things considered.

Although, she hoped he would pick someone better than…

“The Auditore boy?” She asked with a frown, having had dealings with the Auditores because they walked similar circles.

“God no.” Haytham shook his head as a look of sheer disgust decorated his face.

Good to know his brother still had standards then.

Who else was her nephew’s close friends again?

It wasn’t like she knew which of them was his best friend.

Someone that would catch her brother’s attention…

She blinked before staring at Haytham with dawning despair.

“The Miles boy?”

Haytham gravely nodded.

Well, considering who her nephew’s other friends were…

The Miles boy would be the best option.

But…

“Forget if my dear nephew would be alright…” She raised an eyebrow as she said, “William Miles will kill you if he learns you’re seducing his son.”

“If he learns.” Haytham reminded her.

Dear god.

Jenny was right.

Haytham was preparing for another dangerous (and forbidden) drama in his life.

So we’ve seen catboy Des with Edward, shipcat extraordinaire. We’ve seen catboy Des with Connor, the cat whisperer. Soooooo, Haytham? Any…thoughts?

I don’t know why but I feel like I’ve written a HayDes Catboy Desmond idea before but it was modern day last year. I don’t know if I’m remembering it correctly or if the ideas I’ve done have started to jumble up so let’s focus on the past for this one.

Desmond would be that one stray cat that keeps bothering Haytham and judging his every action.

Haytham didn’t even know he was a catboy until a few months after he first realized he had a stalker.

He assumed Desmond was an Assassin sent to kill him and is bidding his time.

… and making his life miserable.

Desmond as Haytham’s (arguably) catboy is the type of cat that would stare at his supposed owner as he slowly push an expensive vase.

Haytham would say no and Desmond would stop for a bit but the moment he looks away, he’d slowly push the vase again until Haytham turns around and tells him no.

That’s the kind of dynamic they have.

… if the expensive vase was to be replaced by every carefully thought of plans the Templars had at the moment.

And Desmond is absolutely doing it on purpose.

And the worst thing about this entire thing?

Desmond is doing this because he’s bored.

Ratonhnhaké:ton won’t be born for years and Haytham is still trying to climb up the ladder in the Templar hierarchy.

He wasn’t naive. Desmond doesn’t think Haytham Kenway could ever be naive… well… after his father’s death anyway.

But he didn’t have any real connection to the Brotherhood sooooo…

Bothering Haytham Kenway it was.

Unraveling Templar plans…

Saving Assassins before they meet their doom…

Being an all out nuisance to him, all the while letting him rise through the ranks.

Because…

Well…

Desmond couldn’t change Haytham’s life… yet.

Not until he’s sure Ratonhnhaké:ton is born.

So HayDes Catboy Desmond would definitely be more enemies to lovers with UST, their relationship won’t bloom until Haytham and Kaniehtí:io broke up (and Ratonhnhaké:ton is along the way). Their relationship would turn to more physical by then but they would also break up because Desmond believed Haytham thinks of him as his rebound fling and he goes to Ratonhnhaké:ton’s tribe, acting like a second parent/uncle to Ratonhnhaké:ton.
