haycinna words of affirmation ARE serious to me because like. imagine just being a guy who sees the beauty in all people and you choose to see it in one of the most damned and deserted examples of man. and you love and love him so deeply for ages on end, either until your death (or in the case of cinna surviving) until you think it's your time to die at the hands of war. and then you both come out completely cleaved in half but beautifully alive, and then he tells you that he loves you. he conjures it up past everything which would push him not to say it and to break away from you, but you get his love one brilliant day and he gets yours. isn't that something.

grabbing @sadcoms for input too because she's the haycinna commander (i her second hand,) but i feel like they are a cliche gay couple trope. like old married couple that are very comfortable with each other but are also in love enough to jokingly belittle each other. they have a fuck-off house somewhere if cinna lives post-war. fashion icon & his psychology lecturer baddie. need i say more.
piggybacking off of my haymitch helix post to say that he is not evading at least one body mod whilst with cinna. he gets an earring because it's fashionable and important for self expression.
relationship wise i think it's the only ship of mine where i can see haymitch at his happiest, because cinna understands all of his self-serving nature & deep stoicism & cynicism and other such titles which have sprung from trauma and the man accepted him anyway completely. with cinna, i think he finds comfort in haymitch's experience and his tendency to be as truthful as possible. i also think they pull the cuddlebug natures out of each other.
