I thought I’d share this little insight into the creation of The Cry’s opening typography, because holy sh!t what a title sequence. Based on Helen Fitzgerald’s novel of the same name, this BBC drama tells the bizarre and increasingly dark story of a couple in the throes of grief, but of course, not all is as it seems. 

Being the graphicsy-psychological-thriller-fan that I am (I mean, who doesn’t love a lengthy Pinterest session followed by a rewatch of Gone Girl), the title type immediately sparked my interest, as each letter bleeds into frame almost like a tear on paper. Gorgeous cinematography and a haunting score too - ya girl’s hooked.
