Steve Rogers x Bucky Barnes Synopsis: Â Steve Rogers is nothing if not stubborn Prompt: Â Steve Rogers + Halsstarrig
Bucky had learned a long, long time ago when little Stevie Rogers set his mind on something there wasn’t anything anyone could do to stop him.  The little punk couldn’t be talked out of anything.  It actually sometimes made getting him to do things really easy sometimes.  Take when he got Steve to ride the Cyclone.  Now Bucky knew that roller coaster’s reputation.  It was a bone rattler.  Even perfectly healthy people came off, in pain and needing to upchuck in the nearest trash can.
Little Stevie, with his Scoliosis, Heart Arrhythmia, and stomach ulcers shouldn’t have even been near that thing.  Bucky knew it.  Steve knew it.  Yet all it took was for Bucky to ask him if he was scared and there was nothing in the world that was going to keep Steve Rogers from riding that damned coaster.
If you looked up stubborn in the dictionary you wouldn’t find a picture of Steve Rogers because stubborn wasn’t as strong enough word to describe him.   A stubborn person would try to enlist in the army knowing they were going to be rejected anyway but lying as much as possible in the hopes they’d get in any way.  Steve Rogers would do it five times and still manage to get in even when he was completely unfit for service.  A stubborn person wouldn’t leave their friend behind on the battlefield.  Steve Rogers convinced two other people to fly him into enemy lines, broke into a heavily fortified military base and rescued all the POWs on his own.
Steve Rogers was a bull-headed idiot that didn’t seem to understand the meaning of the word no.
So Bucky knew there was no point saying it now, as Steve was on one knee in front of him holding out a sleek black titanium ring.  Even if he didn’t think Steve was making the best decision asking him.  Even if he didn’t feel at all worthy of that stubborn idiot’s love.  The only answer Steve would accept was a yes.  Which was good, because really, that’s the one Bucky wanted to give anyway.
