The last episode didn’t happen.

Allura realized she’s too good for Lance and got into a happy, loving triad with Hunk and Shay, and she’s alive and happily rebuilding her society on the reborn Altea with her space dad, Coran, and her lovers and good friend Romelle.

Matt left his hair long and sexy and beautiful and he and his awesome robot girlfriend are happy hangin out with Matt’s cool younger sibling and parents, in frequent contact with the friends they made during the rebellion.

Hunk kept up his culinary hobby and is a universe-renowned engineer, praised for his skill with a wrench and a spatula BOTH. One of his wives is a cool queen and he helps her on diplomatic missions since he IS a Good Diplomat And That’s Not New, and his other wife is well on her way to becoming a planetary wise woman and leader of the band of Balmera planets aligned with the Coalition and that’s that on that.

Lance took a while to get over his broken heart and distracted himself with interplanetary friend-making. Turns out, while he’s not much of a diplomat, he is VERY good at being the center of attention. He shows off, bolsters confidence, and helps cultures rebuild and get along.

Keith and Shiro, of course, got married. As husbands, they work together with Krolia and Kolivan to help rebuild Daibazaal for a time, but then they realize that the things they want the most are simply each other, and a home. They leave the field for good, both of them returning home to earth to live quietly with a wolf, a large bed, and enough lazy mornings they practically don’t know what to do with them all.

Coran couldn’t be prouder of his adopted daughter, and continues to be space dad to his six children, plus Romelle.

Romelle is able to stay with her home, with the people she knows, finally finally safe.

Kinkade is a famous historian applauded for generations for his documentaries, Liefsdottir is well respected, and the other two are lauded for their accomplishments.

Zethrid and Ezor are finally able to let go of the hatred that kept them captive for so long. They’re tactical geniuses that are great aids to Kolivan and Krolia, and when all is said and done they settle down for happy and boisterous lives, never really staying out of trouble but they’re good. They’re happy. And they’re okay.

Acxa fixes her friendship with those two and also becomes good friends with Veronica. Very good. They date, actually. It’s hard for her to adjust, but she’s got Veronica, and Keith, and an iron will, and life is kinder to her.

Also Lotor came back! How could I have neglected to mention that? He’s been through a lot, but during his time in the quintessence field he witnessed first hand that greed for quintessence will only lead to suffering, not only for those around him, but also for himself. Reforming is difficult for Lotor, and he is NOT allowed near the Alteans he took such advantage of, but his story is not over yet, and the show ended on a hopeful note for him.
