The Empire is, however, assembling heavy cannons to weaken the shield's defenses." She pointed to the areas where she and her team had spotted the cannons. "I lost four fighters in a sabotage mission. With your permission I would like to send in an aircraft to conduct a strafe operation."
Onjol folded his arms, thinking. "I don't want to destroy any more of this city than we have to."
"Oh, grow a spine and blow up a few buildings, why don't you?" A Lasat from the Partisans rolled his eyes. "This is a bloody rebellion. We can't just ask the Empire politely to frag off."
"I would remind you once again that your invitation to this campaign may be revoked at any time," Haldo replied hotly.
"I am confident by now that the Partisans understand how I intend to operate," said Onjol evenly. "I would ask that they keep their contempt in check. Chussido?"

Haldo Feat. Lavinia - I'd Like To Be There (Haldos Rhodes Mix)
OC fact: About half my OCs in my WIP are either physically disabled or neurodivergent in some way. Most of them are meant to be POC as well.
Nice! A lot of characters in Du Doompa are aliens. Apollon is a person of color (mixed Turkish) and, though it’s not explicitly stated, autistic. His friends, Onjol and Haldo, are black and Asian respectively, and Onjol has red hair. Koodo, a Rodian, was in an accident that damaged his lower body and now wears a leg brace like Rhodey in the MCU. Com carries trauma from being imprisoned and Leela carries trauma from being abused, abuse which includes starvation. Portia, Mona and Qualdo also experience long-term starvation from poverty. Portia and Mona are abuse victims (they respond very differently from each other) and Qualdo has been homeless for more half his childhood. Tarkay and Dunn are alcoholics.
In one of my other WIPs, race is a plot point. Many of the characters are people of color, human and non-human characters alike. The protagonist, Scalba, is a person of color, nonbinary (he/him,) asexual, and has a disability unique to his species that makes him age slowly and prevents him from reproducing or regrowing. He also has trauma and is a eugenic infanticide survivor, and his father is a genocide survivor.
Which one of your characters would date Ella; an eager to please, bookish blonde, who's very considerate, but also insecure? She's someone who doesn't know she needs constant affirmation. She'll keep on giving until she burns out. And how about Kyran, who's fun and goofy, but bit guarded? He's very likable, but he can't stand physical contact. He has to sleep with the window open, and be outdoors at least five hours out of the day.
Well I’ll tell you right now that Apollon would be her best friend but completely oblivious to her feelings. In terms of who would actually date her, I think Haldo would be a good fit. He’s bookish himself and would be very impressed by her book knowledge. As long as they found something to nerd out about, I think Ella would be able to expect a steady stream of validation from Haldo.
Kyran and Leela would be a good fit together. I think Leela would help him be a little less closed-off.
