- Is it an autism thing to not like having things on your face? Like makeup or facemasks? ♠☄
If it’s down to sensory issues, yes
- Hey, I'm a 15 year old trans boy and I'm pretty sure I have autism. I get these sudden urges to do certain movements, one I have a lot recently is touching the inside of my palm, and I get really obsessed with certain things (currently Overwatch). I also have trouble communicating and I think a lot but never really manage to tell people unless I overshare and they think I'm annoying. I get easily distracted and I have to be fidgeting with something to concentrate mildly well. Is this autism or?
That all sounds like it could be indicative of autism, but we can’t tell you whether it is or not. I’d recommend doing some research into it! There’s a bunch of resources online, and I personally found [This Link] to be really helpful. -Mod Dylan
- hey! Do happy flapping/other emotion-related stims generally only show up in autistic folks? I've started noticing I do them a lot, specifically happy flaps and kinda twisting my wrists by my sides when I'm uncomfy. I also usually need to sit with my legs up--itaat? Thanks!!
Stimming is something that everyone does to a certain degree, it’s just a lot more pronounced with autistic people. Flapping, sitting in odd positions, and unusual movements do tend to be associated with autism though. -Mod Dylan
- First, thank you for the kind answer!! I’m going to sign with 🏳️🌈⚾️ (gaysoftballplayer) if that’s okay? I really like this blog and the more I look at myself, the more it seems that I have undiagnosed autism, but it’s gone so unnoticed bc 1. I’m afab. 2. I can “pass” as neurotypical. But I have so many spINs!! I infodump all the time! I didn’t realize that was an autistic trait! Honestly it explains so many of my “annoying” qualities that other people see in me
I understand how you feel! I got bullied a lot for being ‘weird’ when I was younger; turns out that was all stuff linked to either autism or my other mental health conditions. I’m glad you’ve figured it out, the feeling of validation you get when knowing why you do something is always really nice. -Mod Dylan
- I am a cow croissant. Neuf neuf. 🥐🥐🥐🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
I’m sorry I don’t understand this ask. Please could you clarify if you want that as anon label?
- Could it be an autism thing to be super attached to an object and freak out if its out of your sight Like you are ok with people touching and holding it But you need to know you can get to this object and where it is at all times -(can i be 🐲🏵?)
Yes, we often refer to this as “object loyalty” but I’m not sure how widespread the term is (I’m afraid dragon flower is taken)
