When the respawn machine malfunctions, tf2 mercs get sent directly into source engine where they end up being tortured by mentally ill teens who really hate scout for some reason or who think that their tulpa waifu is living inside of the ragdolls (this is worse than eternity).

Genuine question what is it with tf2 horror projects going “fuck you in particular” to Spy . Like specifically Blu Spy. We Know what happens to EB Spy, Spy’s Disguise Spy is all kinds of messed up, HoovyDundy Blu Spy is like alive but Fucked Up mentally, and gunslingerpro2009/GMOD art Blu Spy is an amalgamation why do we hate this guy so much .
today, on mixing my hyperfixations...
Part 1
Part 2
Bio-Digital Jazz, man!
So I was watching Tron Legacy. Great movie, high production, but personally I prefer the original... and yet, there is something that I will always LOVE about Legacy.
The fact that they took an isekai story and made it actually philosophical:
"The Grid. A digital frontier.
I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What do they look like? Ships, motorcycles. Were the circuits like freeways?
I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see.
And then one day... I got in".
Kevin Flynn went to the digital world in wich he discovered sentient programs and virtual realities, not emulated but functional universes inside simple programing, like a computer script or a mail chain. In both continuities, Flynn is higly affected by this discovery. In Tron 2.0, he suffered paranoia from the knowing of playing with sentient beings in the most basic levels or programing, and in the current timeline, he tried to connect both worlds by his project in the Grid. Of course, until CLU happend.
But as I said, my hyperfixations relate in one form or another. And in this case, about sentient programs. I'm not talking about A.I. but actual living beings, with feelings and autonomy...
Have you ever heard of ARGs and Creepypastas in Videogames?
In the cult classic (yes) NES Godzilla Creepypasta, the protagonist found a sentient game of his favorite childhood game. This, alone, sounds cliche and not very good, in fact, BEN Drowned and The Princess were some of the best examples of this type of stories, but with one big diference. By the end of the (honestly terrible) third BEN Drowned arc, it is revealed that there was no ghost in the machine, just a mashup of sentient AIs that originated from an experiment brainwashing people into a cult of the Moon from Majora's Mask (no joking) and in The Princess, the titular antagonist isn't trapped in the game, but it's a living idea, an etherial meme with feelings even...
But looking at Godzilla NES, things are diferent. Here, at first, looks like there is a demon, ghosts and even angels inside the game, but in the sequel, the replay, it is revealed that, indeed, these are sentient beings. In the first story there was a suggestion about this, with a complete ecosystem functioning in it, but the sequel expanded it further.
You want another example? Ok. Hear me out.
Animation vs Animator, by Alan Becker.
A YouTube series about sentient stickfigures that fight his creator in ways you can't even imagine. From the start it is suggested that sentient stickfigures are a recurrent thing on this universe, for example, the fact that there are pages talking about Stickmen rights!
But this is further explored in the third season, in wich we actually see a functional society inside the web, with stickfigures, Newgrounds characters and Flash games living in a big city. Heck, we even got to see how they are made.
The reason why I use this as an example and not something like Wreck it Ralph it's for the simple fact that Alan, and by extension, other people, are well informed about this, not in it's entirety, but at least that they suffer. This changes the way people interact and create stuff in the internet in ways that, at least now, we haven't seen in the series.
And to be honest, that's normal. Becker is well known for a young public and I think entering these more abstract concepts aren't his taste, specially cause the series is basically an excuse to see stickmin figures fighting eachother.
But here is where things get messy...
What if the Users know that they are sentient, but didn't care at all...
Gunslingerpro2009 is an unfiction series in wich a GMod creator uploads his bizarre work in GMod and SourceFilmMaker, but the thing is... all the ragdolls are sentient, and they are constantly looking for help, living under the tirany of Gunslinger. The series isn't that long, but it's a great example of what I'm talking about.
But wait, there's more...
Badwatervideos2009 is a... ngl, kind of rip off channel of Gunslingerpro2009, but the with two main diferences. One: This is at least finished. And Two: SPOILERS, The main antagonist isn't a user, it's one of the sentient ragdolls that killed a user and obtain the Gmod Gun. So he started to make YouTube content pretending it's a human being. This ain't an accident, neither bad programing like CLU or HAL9000, this is a sentient being thst act on rage, jealusy and envy against his user AND his friends. There is guilt in there. Can you see it too?
Let's take this further, although I have to mention, I haven't finished this one.
Interloper is an ARG. And maybe the best that came out of the GMod ARG trend. It is about an old programming code that Valve made at the time of creating the Source Engine and that, surprise, is actually sentient. As I said, I haven't finished this one, but it's mostly in the same line as the others, only with a bigger production and inmersion. Check it out and you will see.
Curiusly, the character of Anomidae is not one of a kind. Cause even if the spectators, theorists and followers of the case insist on the sentience of the creatures inside the games, Anomidae isn't on the same boat. His way of acting is clearly detached from what he is experiencing, mostly cause he knows it's a game and most of the time these are AIs instead of ghosts, but other times I just have to wonder... why? It would be easier for us to detached from these sentient, living beings if we see them through a screen? After all, we do the same in social media by seeing people like numbers and messages instead of people, and in other times the AI psychosis is just bigger and we start threating AIs as people, even if they aren't.
So here is my last case of study:
Have you ever heared of Minecraft ARGs?
Of course, they are everywhere! And in most of the cases, they repeat the same story over and over again.
A Secret Experiment
A Broken script/ Herobrine like entity
It's all a reflection of real life events
Etc.
Seriusly. The fact that Alpha 1.0.16, Zachobuilds and "Searching for a World that doesn't exists" became the most popular ones is a miracle, cause once you saw those, you kind of see them all...
THAT WAS Until the parodies came.
Here's the kicker: Initially, the "Minecraft ARG but the Protagonist..." type of video were a parody, mocking on the cliches and oversaturated content of the Minecraft ARGs, but after a while, people began to make those series in a more serius note. Now, this also have some cliches, don't missunderstand, but I personally found them more enjoyable for two main aspects:
1: They KNOW thar they are a subversion of the tropes, so they play more with the concepts and are more character driven
And 2: They all have a similarity in them...
Most of their protagonists... they are alone.
Either Users or Entities in the machine, they only play to kill time or scare people cause it's the only thing they can do. And so, it is expected over time that a bond is formed. Of course, most of them are jokes at the start, but taking for example "Minecraft ARG but the Protagonist is a monster lover", that OBVIUSLY started as a joke, quickly developed into a deeply personal story about loneliness and bonds.
As a person that have most of his friendships living in diferent sides of the world, I can higly relate to that feeling of not being able to make more things for the restrictions, in this case, the fact that these are mostly entities living in a web, not in the real world.
I WAS IN HELL, LOOKING AT HEAVEN
But even better. Most of the time the users threat the entities as real people, even if they often say they are just a very advanced AI, their sentience and feelings are a proof that they are, in most of the ocations, actually alive. They care for the users, they fear them, or they hate them. And the stories made in here are either relatable and unique, cause they break the barrier between the digital and real world, but without breaking it at all.
It is, trully, a thought experiment that can only work on the internet, but I just wonder...
What if these things were real?
AM I STILL TO CREATE THE PERFECT SYSTEM!?
After all, what do you expect from a simulated reality so precise that even emulates the origin of sentience...?

doodles of the RED Engies from the 2 popular tf2 args & what ah think they're like.
same character, 2 different ends of a spectrum. one whose an avatar for God that probably is just God puppeteerin' it, and another whose a doll who's struck acting in things against his will.
that's what ah imagine them anyways, it'll probably be disproved but eh. enjoy :D
Wake up hot bitches the TF2 ARG ever just came back
Have you heard of this creepy series?
