As I’ve mentioned, 2017 was the final year for the Lake Forest Concours, I think due to a number of factors. The year previous saw a Mustang lose control and crash, and this year’s show was so crowded that the local police had to shut down the road outside of the dealer because every nearby parking lot was full. The dealer wanted to let things cool off, and they have said that they wanted to re-evaluate and try to find a different way to put on the show, but that has yet to happen sadly.
This show had so many spectators that it was hard to get good pictures. That, combined with the fact that it was about 95 degrees and sunny meant that I didn’t spend too much time walking through. The first car that caught my eye at the show was this Guards Red Carrera GT. This car was a regular at shows around Chicago for many years, and I believe it was the very first Carrera GT that I ever saw, spotting it on the road back in 2007 just a bit after I started driving. This car was spotted at the Lake Forest Concours in 2017
