#growing up ugly
When you and a decent guy you “met” on Facebook text for weeks and he stops replying after he sees a picture of you
Hey, to all of the people out there that grew up being called ugly; there is hope. To all the people who had people make up stupid songs about how disgusting they were, to the people who were always the butt-end of the ‘ask them out’ joke, to the people that became synonymous with being unattractive; things get better. When I was in middle school I was all of these things. And I never “Glowed up”. I still look exactly like I did back then. I’m, at best, a 4/10. But when I became an adult something changed, I made friends and via my personality people fell in love. They loved how much I cared about them, how I remembered things so well, how we had so much in common, and in the end the way I looked didn’t matter. What mattered was the way being with me made them feel. And these people weren’t settling for me, they were all attractive. One of them was even a man who was on a professional soccer team, and he was easily an 8/10. He could have chosen anyone but he asked me, not for the way I looked but, for the way we talked.
TLDR; Being considered unattractive super sucks, but the stereotypical movie ending of someone’s personality winning out over someone else’s looks does happen. Keep faith, don’t let them get to you.
When someone tells me I’m cute
I'm actually really pretty it's just hidden under layers and layers of bad skin, fat and lots and lots of weird bone structures and weird hair

GrowingUpUgly follow up
One of the posts I see often in my activity feed is my #growingupugly post. I made that post 2 years ago now, and looking back on it, seeing all the girls and guys that relate to it still really saddens me. I’ve grown past all that since I’ve posted it. I’m going on boyfriend #3, and he’s incredible. All of you, whether you’ve seen my post or not, will get past it too. I frankly don’t care about that stuff anymore. And with time, neither will you. You will find your friends that want you around. You will find the person who loves you no matter what you struggle with. You are beautiful within yourself. Ugly has held no meaning to any of you, even if you think otherwise. You did not grow up ugly, the world is just a cruel place full of narcissism, hypocritics, and bullies. Any of one you who sees this post, my DMs are always open and always judgement free.
