I know that sometimes there are a lot of coincedences nobody intended and suddenly it looks like you have been forshadowing in little ways that Summer is a Grimm now. So I won’t be disappointed if it turns out not to be true.
BUT. It makes so much sense. I always thought having Summer alive would be cheap. Unless there is a very good reason -like Penny being an android- RWBY as a show always was very good with dealing with death. At the same time we all knew that somehow Ruby has to deal with her death. So Summer being the Hound makes so much sense now. I still don’t think she can be saved but her fate is literally walking around kidnapping people. So beside all the clues about fairy tale allusion and little moments from past Volumes, the Hound HAS to be unique. Because we can’t just have Grimm like that. It would totally break the show. So no I don’t think this is a new evolution of Grimm. This one is special. So talking about how special it is is totally valid.
