Greyl's Construction. Lilith's hands.

It has been mentioned before that there were two Greyls, sometimes mentioned as the first iteration, or version, maybe incarnation, and then there was the second. The first Greyl was one of the many corpses sown together and brought back with necromancy of the Yeteoan flair. These corpses were to be containers for souls, "Soul Containers". These living vessels would host souls for whatever purposes Lilith wished to use them for, and were capable of self-realization and development, unless specific restrictions were applied to them by her. A life of a Soul Container is a tumultuous experience, though all the undead of Lilith were often very well cared for.

All the pieces of Greyl specifically were mismatched, and one of the common spells applied upon her and her fellows were memory spells - something that monthly would wipe most of the general memories of the past month. Wiping the mental slate somewhat clean, whilst keeping in things that would allow them to still continue understanding and interacting with the world, to keep themselves alive, even without the creator. When one is a soul container there are rarely souls there that aren't mismatched when put together, so those pieces have to "get along" in a singular vessel. Most of Lilith's experiments and soul energies were harvested from a different plane of existence dedicated to souls itself with its related interactions and unique activity. They were often just pieces of dissolving and reforming souls or energy, rather than ones considered "whole". Within the Soul Container these things would in time melt more together into a singular unit, but would still result in a tangle of unknown histories that may alter the experience of a vessel by the forgotten pasts of those fragments stuck together. Often unconscious or subconscious, certain stimuli may affect the Soul Container's new life experience if those pieces recognize something familiar. It would result in varied responses, though things tone down over time if carefully taken care of. Rarely, some stimuli are so strong it can make the mental fabric of the corpse and the mismatched soul implode. While the undead vessels can hold immense amounts of souls in them at once, this raises the stakes and chances for a mental break in turn. While a memory spell is also meant for pacification and control, it can also be a medium to keep things calm in the mental landscape of a creation that hasn't yet "solidified" or "settled". Sometimes the undead cannot help themselves, and be it cruelty or helpfulness, getting this reset prevents some breakdowns and thus destruction of the Soul Container. Though it depends on the undead if this helps or not, its not always that simple to solve a situation. There are many types of undead a Yeteaon can create, but a Soul Container is specifically a living tool unique to Servant Lilith and her Court. To nourish a Soul Container, it must eat the meats and bone it was made out of, to avoid decay and cracking of their being. Different types of undead or golem ask for different sources of sustenance. Lilith used Soul Containers to try and look for Valilmira for hundreds of thousands of years.

Greyl slowly developed into the identity of "Greyl" over the course of some years. If an undead develops an identity, that often stays with them as well despite the memory spells. Such was Lilith's design.
