Sony TA-5650 Integrated Stereo Amplifier (1975–1977)

A highly sought-after vintage integrated amplifier featuring Sony’s rare VFET (Vertical Field Effect Transistor) output stage, producing approximately 30 watts per channel into 8 ohms. The TA-5650 is prized for its smooth, tube-like sound, excellent build quality, and extensive feature set, including dual phono inputs, dual tape loops, pre-out/main-in connections, selectable tone turnover frequencies, loudness, and mono/stereo switching.

Because original VFET transistors are no longer manufactured, well-maintained examples are increasingly collectible. Professionally restored units are considered among the finest vintage solid-state amplifiers Sony ever produced.
