I havent really thought about gray changing her name at all (I wouldn't go with grayette considering the whole -ette thing is a misogynistic writing method), I dont think she would change her name because a large part of her character is that she doesn't care about anything. It's why my grays gender expression is the way it is but I'll go into that in a future post.
Ship wise, i really like grenda and grimon. Grenda isn't really romantic for me, gray only hangs out with wenda so much because shes the first person to show up at her front door asking to go out. It's definitely a romantic thing for wenda though. Grimon wise, in my au specifically simon and gray dated back in school. They were the 15-16 year olds who were glued to eachothers hips and could not go anywhere without the other. Of course they eventually break up, that part is in the works because originally simon lost feelings and got with durple but I dont like that anymore
