3. We Hail the Taxi of Eternal Torment 🚖

So, I admit this was one of the ones I’d had in mind for a while. I wanted to give the scene a dynamic feel, and I hope the effect works.

And how wonderful it is that I can finally show you how I’ve always imagined the Gray Sisters’ Taxi! How can you make the “Gray” Sisters’ taxi colorful? (I admit that when I saw it yellow in the TV series, I was a little taken aback 😅). If you ask me why the red smoke—ehmm creative license (?)—let’s just say it gave me more of an “eternal torment” effect.

And then I hid a few little Easter eggs scattered around, like the license plate with the Greek name of the Gray Sisters. Okay, I’ll stop talking, I just wanted to vent my madness in creating this illustration 🙃

So whose helmet is that and why was it dropped? I don't think there was any Capture the Flag in Sea of Monsters. But I remember in The Lightning Thief they had red and blue horsehair plumes on helmets.

That's like two dozen people marching to the top of a hill... that's enough for like a battle, but I don't remember any land battles with that many campers in the book... Could it be a flashback?

That sounds like Poseidon doing the voice-over, but I don't think he spoke to Percy in the book. (Also, I'm pretty sure that line about the Great Stirring was in The Titan's Curse.)

I'm guessing that is not Percy's reaction to seeing Scylla, because he looks focused rather than terrified. Annabeth looks a little awed/ concerned/ surprised, which might be her reaction to a terrifying sea monster (followed by concentration of how best to take it down).

"War is inevitable"... I'm guessing that is Poseidon talking to Zeus and Zeus isn't going to listen (considering the state of affairs in book 3).

Grover and the reed pipes! Finally! I want to see him make some music! Oh, and that's a skeleton. Mildly concerning. Do satyr skeletons look different from human ones?

That looks like a blade Luke pulls from Thalia's tree... For some reason I never imagined the poison in a blade, but I guess this is fitting. Did he say anything to Thalia before he plunged the blade in? I almost feel like showing this on screen might provide too much of a spoiler for how this season will end.

Those uniforms look old-fashioned, but I can't tell if they're blue or gray. And aren't they supposed to be kind of undead? But the guy pulling the boat isn't a soldier.

Clarisse looks ready to take on anything.

Who is that in that clip?! Who drops a knife on the beach-- a knife stained with blood? I don't think that's a Camp Half-Blood shirt they're wearing, but I could be wrong.

"There are forces more powerful than the will of the gods, my son" Okay, so Poseidon is talking to Percy. That's a step up from how many words he spoke to him in the book.

Oh my gods. The chariot race arena looks epic!! Who is that statue, the lady with the chariot pulled by three snakes? (Who in Greek mythology has a chariot pulled by three snakes? I guess I don't know the myths nearly as well as I thought, but this wasn't in the books!)

I see some people lying in the sand; one person is supporting another, so I'm guessing this is the aftermath of the chariot race. (Except... wouldn't they look a bit more injured? Maybe not in a kids' show. This isn't Ben-Hur.)

Is that tree on the hill the one with the Golden Fleece? It doesn't look like a pine tree, so I'm guessing it's not Thalia's tree.

What is the context of that scene with Percy looking ready to fight near the shoreline? There's someone behind him with an axe. And a beard, so presumably not a camper. I guess the series is adding fight scenes that weren't in the book.

What room is that with the green wallpaper and gold-framed paintings?

Hello, Kronos... What's with the lantern? Nice stained-glass windows (I'm sure there symbolic of something).

Nice to see Dionysus hasn't lost any of his charm. Who's the guy with the spear? I'd guess Argus, but he doesn't have eyes all over. Tantalus, maybe?

What kind of a boat is that? It looks modern, so I assume it's not a lifeboat from the Civil-War era ship or the one they stole from the pirates.

That is a very large tentacle and two boats. I have no idea as to the context.

Percy is fighting Annabeth while people in uniforms watch. They're standing on land, near the water. No, I have absolutely no idea what this is; it wasn't in the book.

Hey, look, an undead Confederate! Except... shouldn't they be wearing gray uniforms? I thought Union soldiers wore blue. Or did they decide to change this detail, considering the current political environment?

Luke, leading an army, on land. What the frack? This wasn't in the book! So so so curious to find out what this is about!

Hey, it's the fight scene on the cruise ship! But why is Percy holding what looks like a rug? There is no way he's fooling anyone that's the Golden Fleece (but I wouldn't put it past him to try).

Chariot race fighting! (Fingers crossed we meet the Stoll brothers and Beckendorf this season!) (Oh, and Silena, too.)

And there's Percy holding that rug again, running through a dimly lit hallway. Context?!?!? This wasn't in the book!

(To clarify, these are elated surprised shouts of "This wasn't in the book!" because I am so excited to find out what this is about.)

Who's the white-haired lady with green smoke coming out of her mouth? I don't think it's the Oracle, but I could be mistaken.

Who's the archer girl? It's somewhere indoors with electric lighting. Could be the Princess Andromeda. Or it could be someone at CC's Spa & Resort.

Wait. What the frack. Two weapons crossing over Percy lying on the grass. Not a beach. One of them has a trident. The other has a sword, and the sleeves show what looks like a nice suit. This wasn't in the books. It can't be Poseidon's trident because the gods are forbidden from interfering directly like that. And it's on grass, so not near the ocean; inland a bit. What's going on here?!

"Let's go do the impossible." New quotable line!

I think that scene there... it could be on the Civil War ship or the pirate ship I suppose. My betting is it's right after the scene with the Sirens, because it looks like Percy is offering Annabeth support and she'll need it then.

Why are the fire-throwing cannibals in the woods? Does this mean we aren't getting a dodgeball game? Or did they follow him to camp?

Tyson! Nice bit with him literally stepping in front of a fireball to save Percy-- that wasn't in the books! Love it.
