Holy shit where these little babies good. They were just listed as calamari on the menu, and of course being up from up in tourist-land, 99.9% of all calamari is breaded and fried so when they first set it down I was kind of like, oh boy: whole squid this might be a little slimy but OMG. Not even slippery or weird or tough at all, perfectly cooked, and STUFFED with rocotta, mozzarella, prosciutto, garlic and herby stuff. I could have eaten like 4 more of these. Remember when Grappolo was in San Luis Obispo??? Like 10 years ago? Maybe more? where Creekside Brew was and then about 13 other things since then and now Sidecar's betting the whole farm on that location. lovely spot, and it was my favorite Italian restaurant in SLO at the time.
