The complaint comes after a month in which at least eight major hospitals and hospital systems — all in states where the care is allowed under state law — announced they were stopping or restricting the care. The latest announcement came Thursday from UI Health in Chicago.
Trump’s administration announced in July that it was sending subpoenas to providers and focusing on investigating them for fraud. It later boasted in a news release that hospitals are halting treatments.
The religious groups argued the policy violated the right to practice their religion.
No Sanctuary Here
Let me be perfectly clear on this. This IS a violation of church and state. For a long time the church was considered holy ground and sanctuary for those fleeing oppression or overreach by governments and/or the law, it was the safe space allowed for those to find a place to negotiate and come to terms. The church was allowed to say whether one could be taken on their grounds or not, whether they would protect or not protect. It was a place where even the guilty could find a respite from a vengeful and unreasonable justice system. It did not mean they were innocent, it did not place them beyond the reach of the law; it was a respite, a reflection point. This is just a sign that those who thought this administration was a force for "God" or "Christianity" is anything but. They have an agenda and damned be those who resist or intend to interfere with it. This is a sea change in attitude, the norms are breaking, don't think they are not breaking. You are not safe from what will come if we do not put a stop to it.

When the government picks energy winners, consumers lose.
By taking a heavy-handed approach to energy policy, Trump is repeating the mistakes of past presidents, including Joe Biden, who gave green energy projects billions of dollars in federal loans and halted oil and gas drilling on federal lands. And while record gas prices during the Biden administration were a result of global supply chains, the president's rhetoric toward domestic oil producers discouraged investment and didn't help to alleviate costs.
This mistake isn't just made at the federal level. States have also imposed laws mandating that a certain level of energy come from renewable sources or outlawing certain energy technologies outright. In California, renewable energy mandates and a ban on building new nuclear power plants, which are carbon-free, have hurt grid reliability and raised costs for consumers. The state has turned to natural gas peaker plants and electricity imports from other states to supplement its renewable-heavy grid.

If you're celebrating the TikTok ban, take a moment to reflect on why. Your opinion shouldn’t hinge on whether you like TikTok or not. Hate the platform all you want, but endorsing its ban is endorsing censorship—plain and simple.
There are plenty of social media platforms I can't stand, including some I frequently use. They can feel like absolute chaos. But would I cheer if the *government* decided to shut one down entirely? No. Because it sets a precedent that the government can dictate what platforms people use or how they communicate online. That should concern everyone.
If your perspective is, "I don’t like what this represents, but it’s okay as long as it’s just TikTok," you’re not thinking critically enough. Even if this ban *only* targeted TikTok, it’s still censorship.
And if you're saying, "This isn’t just about TikTok—it gives them the power to ban *anything*," you’re spot on. That’s an alarming overreach. But even if it truly stopped at TikTok alone, it would still be an unacceptable attack on free expression. Do you see the issue here?
This isn’t even touching on the broader implications: the many who rely on TikTok for their income, the communities that foster connection, and the way it helps many with their mental health. But that’s a rant for another day. For now, consider the bigger picture—this is about censorship, and it’s not something we should ever endorse.
