Eroom's law is the observation that drug discovery is becoming slower and more expensive over time, despite improvements in technology (such as high-throughput screening, biotechnology, combinatorial chemistry, and computational drug design), a trend first observed in the 1980s. i met with several new doctors this year and now i have a list of 10 different medications (no new treatment plan at all) that they think might help and i should give a try. i hate how normalized this became. it has pharmaceutical industry and lack of moral (read making money at the expense of people's health) all over it.

As a man ages, he becomes less receptive to these air polluting hormones. This is backed up by the scientific fact that all humans start out without a penis. People who use GLP-1 to control their actual chronic illness can't get their shots because they're either 1) told the medication is out of stock or 2) the insurance denies them immediately on the grounds that they don't pay for unnecessary drugs for cosmetic weight loss EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ACTUALLY NECESSARY FOR SOME PEOPLE TO LIVE. THE PRIOR AUTHORIZATION PAPER SHUFFLE FOR THE ABILITY TO GET THE MEDICATION YOU NEED TO EXIST IS HELL. IT CAN TAKE MONTHS OR MAY NEVER BE APPROVED. I'M CAPSLOCKING BECAUSE OH MY FUCK HAVE I EVER HAD A FLARE BECAUSE OF MY MEDICATION RUNNING OUT WHILE WAITING FOR A NEW INSURANCE COMPANY TO APPROVE MY MEDICATION.
And it's not just Ozempic and Wegovy. There are so many medications this is happening to because people find out they're a fad, so they ask their doctor to write a prescription or keep looking for one who will. IN FACT, there are smaller drug companies (compared to like Novo Nordisk) that release their own GLP-1 formulation, and their ads have been all over my FB timeline because I can't shut up about how fucked up all of this is, and FB is notorious for showing you things that are meant to specifically piss you off for engagement.
