it’s technically afternoon but whatever. HI! how are you? i feel like i always jump into a ramble and i never ask how the rest of yall are. womp womp

anyways, i have some chemistry notes to do because i have an assignment and two labs to do by the end of this week, but i also have work so… yompers.

regardless, now that my midterm is over, i’ve been writing (in small doses), and it’s so fun. mwah, i’m so excited to be done the cos rewrites so i can order a proof copy AHHHHH that’s so exciting. i haven’t touched gotn in a hot minute oops but at this point, it feels a bit awkward to because i need to know what revisions i am going to make to cos in order to finish literally the last TWO chapters of gotn. i was two chapters from finishing and i decided to rewrite cos instead. what an L

nonetheless, i’m going to go on my first bike ride of the season tonight ayyyyyy. it’s 27C today tho so it’s gonna be an evening bike ride so i don’t give myself a heat stroke.

i have work today. i also went to breakfast with my mom. i started writing gotn last night, and i got one chapter done. i decided to add a couple of chapters so im only 84% through the book now instead of nearly 95% 💀

anyways whatever. the added chapters make the ending less butchered so i consider it a necessity. anyhow, why are writing action scenes, specifically jousts, so difficult? like bruh. i know what you’re doing. i can see it. i’ve choreographed it. it makes sense. but how to put into words????

she’s back onto writing ayyyy. imma finish gotn before i start doing cos rewrite scenes again, because i really wanna finish the book 😭😭😭 reading gotn and having no ending was literally so jail i got so mad.

anyways, after that, it’s eoj time omg i can’t believe we’re already here. but regardless…

in other news, i wanna learn how to do a front flip. that’s my summer goal. that, and cartwheels. 🤸‍♂️ OH! and a pull up by the end of the year. i’m actually gonna get myself a pull up bar for my room just to practise every day.

that’s it. that’s all i have to say. and yes, we truly are done with the anon guessing games. if yall wanna use anon for some diabolical assumptions, it’s still open, but i don’t wanna guess no more womp womp. there were so many last time that i got overwhelmed 🤡

so i did something almost a year ago where i made a document that compiled all of tov and sai’s monologues, speeches, and the best quotes from them and put them into one document. its called the “tov best monologues and quotes” (referencing tov the epic vs just volume one).

anyhow, in that document, i ended up naming each of the monologues. i.e. hilbert’s “power” monologue or “we are perfect” monologue. or alan’s “i knew they could take it so i went harder” tangent that ive shared here on tumblr before.

there’s a monologue in sai that lives in my mind rent free. it’s called the “sigh of bemusement” monologue, and it’s (imo) one of the best and most pivotal moments, aside from the devas myth in the end of tov. i can’t explain why without delving into spoilers, but to keep it vague, alan ends up only partially releasing himself from his own pressures in that monologue, but not fully.

it’s such an IMPORTANT and deeply thoughtful moment from him… SO TO SEE A CALLBACK TO IT IN GOTN?

bro… i don’t remember writing that in because of my post-writing amnesia, but when that callback was made and the moment was revived in the context of evan, alan’s son…. I GOT SO SENTIMENTAL.

it was acc so profoundly emotional i did not expect that. because where alan only partially released that sigh, evan let go entirely.

AND I FREAKING CRIED.

i didnt acc, but i did get emotional and teary. i didn’t expect that monologue to hit so severely, but somehow, even just referencing it in that new context made it so much more beautiful oh my days…
